Shortening Mp3's to use a ringtones!!

Hi,

I was wondering what software I could use to shorten mp3's that I use as ringtones so they are not longer than 30 secs and where I can chose any part of the song, I want to play!!

Sure you all know what I am getting at!!!

Any idea's???

I use Nero's Burning ROM software...Has a great little sound editor program, however, you can probably download a free sound editing app if you are strictly looking for something simple.

I use QuickTime Pro to pare down my MP3s into shorter, smaller files to use as ringtones. Really straight forward; mark your in, your out, trim, export as a new file. The other nice thing about QTPro is you can also use it to convert videos to pretty much any format, including 3GP, MP4, etc. Only thing is it's a $30 US upgrade from the freebie QuickTime Player (but the "creative" person can easily find ways around that... <cough cough>). http://quicktime.apple.com for both Mac or PC.

I've been using the freeware open-sourced audacity for quite some time... a lil off topic.. but anyone know of BT headset that will allow listening of mp3s? I know it would MURDER the battery but...
