Help with Serial Cable!

I had the USB cable and it wouldn't work w/ my phone for some reason. I got it to work once on Bitpim but after that it wouldn't work anymore. So i bought the Serial cable and now i don't guess its going to work. When i plug it in what do i need to do next?

you need GAGIN.look at the sticky thread at the top of the list of threads in the forum

I have tried using Gagin also, i tried every port, i even got the patch for com ports 5-8 and still doesn't work.
