I am a current nextel user wanting to switch to ATT Wireless, I was wondering if the newer sony ericsson phones (T630, Z600 etc.) work with the att wireless network. I noticed that some of the newer SE phones dont have 850, will that effect there ability to work on the att wireless network? thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure you can use the any newer SE phone on the ATT wireless network. The bandwidth of 850 is only used by certain networks. If I'm correct the 850 is used most in Europe.
ATT should be compatible with any phone you get from SE.

1900 doesnt work very well or at all in some areas. remember that. i know that the se t316, t616, t226 will work. and the evercoming z500 . those are phones that work on 850 and 850 is alot better than 1900. in most areas anyway.

900MHz and 1800MHz are the bands used in Europe. For AT&T Wireless, they DO require 850MHz support in some of their markets, so you may rather call CS and verify that they are using 1900MHz in your home market before you get any phone without 850MHz support.

well actually not to stray off topic but t-mo has 900mhz doesnt it? is it just not as strong as in europe?

Posted by: rdnymllnsktr

900 doesn't function in the US. As a result, it's stronger in Europe than in the US, cause the US DOESN'T HAVE IT!!!!!

Posted by: darrell4sho

yes 900 does. its called t-mobile.

Posted by: rdnymllnsktr

Hey, Dumb@$$, I live in the US, I know what bands we have. And if you live in the US, why don't you call and ask what bands T-Mobile functions on? 900 doesn't exist in the US, *******.

Posted by: rdnymllnsktr

I hate when stupid people like you try to act smart. The 850 and 1900 bands are for the US, the 900 and the 1800 bands are for out of the US. Don't be stupid, listen to others who have more knowledge and a brain.

Oh oh oh!!! Why'd you remove your last post dumbshit??? You said that 900 was in Florida, where you live, what's the matter? Learn that I was RIGHT?!?!?!?

geez sorry for ticking you off sooo much. might want to get the sand outta there.

they use 1900 here my b.

Posted by: rdnymllnsktr

Oh oh oh, I was right! And to get the sand out of here? Nice try at a comeback, loser! You found out you were wrong, but couldn't even take it fully, had to try to look tough, eh? You're just sad.

Posted by: darrell4sho

no its not a comeback. im just pointing out you're being uptight

i just remembered some t-mo person telling me it was 900. geez i wasnt trying to act smart i was just had information that was incorrect. im sorry that you are so mad. that was not my intention.

and how is that being tough? and why would i want to be? its not like i'll be embarrased, i dont know any of you.

im calling truce. arguing over something like this is gay.

BTW: that was almost a triple post.

Okay, no more

Just

But I don't drink, so make mine Sprite or some lemon lime soda!

well back on point, SE might make some 850 variations of some phones. they're making one of the t630 called t637. not to mention the somewhat better but not z500 (compared to z600)

Posted by: rdnymllnsktr

Oh yes, most definitely! SE has brought several phones to the US and changed the bands.

T300 >> T306
T610 >> T616
T630 >> T637
etc.

I put in an order with an internet merchant for a T300 knowing full well what I wanted and they sent me a T306. When I called to complain, one of these imbeciles tried to tell me they were the same phone, another told me I shouldn't complain as I was getting an upgraded model. I finally sent the phone back to them and will have to deal with getting a full credit including the charge for returning the phone.....but these people think everybody who orders from them is an idiot.

Incidentally as they had not sent me the phone I ordered, I toyed with the idea of claiming a credit on the credit card and not sending the phone back to them. After all, don't they have the responsibility of telling me if they are substituting a completing different product for one I ordered.

Perhaps that is what I should have done.

i know what you mean jeffalot of sales people think they are god of cell phones just because they are the ones wearing the name tag and operating the cash register. some of them do know their stuff though (luckly)

once someone tried to sell me an MCA-25 camera for $109, when i went to cingular stand and bought it for 50.
