hey everyone... i need your help deciding between an Ericsson T28w and a Nokia 8290. I'd just like to know which you think is the better pick. (I don't really care for the world phone feature, but just interested in how both of them hold up to normal use.)
both of them are about the same price for me.
thanks.

having owned and used multiple examples of both phones i would have to say go with the t28w although it is not difficult to argue for the other side either.
pros: the t28 will pick up signal better because of the external antenna. it is smaller and has more advanced features like voice answer. the voice dialling works better too due to the closer proximity of the mic to your mouth. it has an active flip so you are not constanly having to lock your keys. it has a smart battery that can tell you the remaining talk time to the minute. there are more useful accsories available for the t28 like a truly high cap battery (6 hours talk time), fm stereo headset, mp3 player, rapid battery charger.
cons: t28's software isn't very fast and isn't friendly like nokia software. the flip has a tendency to unplug the mic, has a smaller screen, and doesnt have the fun features like picture messaging and the custom ringtones dont sound as good as nokia.
pros: 8290 has very fast very friendly software, if you used a nokia before you will know how to use it w/ no problem. it is more customizable (faceplates, operator logos, LED's, ringtones)
cons: the 8290's RF signal sucks bull honkey. having the internal antenna sucks and most people dont know how to hold it properly while they are on the phone causing more problems. and THE SCREEN!!! the screen WILL fade out or scramble sooner or later.
im sure not everyone here will agree but that just my opinion...
