Can a S56 be used on Germany?

Couse its a Dual band GSM 850/1900 MHz phone
and in germany they dont use these gsm frequencies
S56 is made for north amercia only
hope its more clear now

For Europe you would need the S55, which is nearly identical and it supports the two European bands as well as the PCS band in the US.
