PS Synch/USB problems

Getting REALLY knacked off now about my PC synch.
For some reason, my P900 will not synch with my laptop for no reason at all - it was fine yesterday!!
I put the phone in and the arrow icon moves to search for the connection with the usb port, yet it never actually makes the connection.
The phone is visible in the list of available phones, the USB port is enabled and even reserved for the synch of the p900, yet connection never actually completes.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem? I have had a look on the boards, but a solution to the problem does not work on my Windows 2000.
Please help I have Kill Bill to watch!!!
