Personally, my approach is I'll need it when I need it. Have you identified a need yet? If not, I'd say no.

However, here are a sampler of what you can use BT with your phone for:
- Copy images from/to the P900 to/from you PC.
- Using the P900 as a modem when you are out in the wilderness (concrete jungle that is) and no WiFi connection is available.
- Syncing wirelessly with the PC.

I use BT mainly between my phone (not a P900 yet but a T39, R520 and T610) and my Palm Tungsten T3 to do the internet, and better yet I take a photo with my Minolta digicam, pop the SD card into my Palm, beam a pic onto the T610 and email it there and then. I takes less than 2 minutes and my parents (in Madagascar) got to see their new granddaughter within a few minutes of her being born in Minnesota.

Still, I bought the dongle thing for my laptop (Belkin US$40) and use it very seldom (about once a month to upload a photo of my daughter onto the T610). It's not too expensive but I'm not sure if I'd buy it again.

Nevertheless, good luck with your choice.

your advice was appreciated

if you already have an infrared adapter, no need to buy a bluetooth dongle. IRDA will serve it's purpose.

Just wondering
if i had a bluetooth dongle
am i able to connect to my computer's cable internet through that?

Aha! That's an interestng question. You want to connect you phone to the internet through your computer+cable connection? Now why would you want that if your phone already is connected using GPRS?

As far as Samantha's post, I beg to differ, IR had its use but lining uup the devices is a pain.

yes it's a pain but it serves its purpose, right? one advantage of bluetooth is you don't need to have a line of sight when connecting with other devices...with IRDA, you do.

I dont' use the GPRS because i don't really need to use it when i'm out
but i thought it might be interesting if i'm at home and i can go on msn or something
so i didn't have to go back to my room all the time to check if i got an email or message or whatever
