WAP hack for 8600??

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I tried to do the same 8900 "WAP hack" to my wife's 8600, and it doesn't work.

Does anyone know how to get into this phone and program this (or anything else)?

Any advise would be appreciated!

There are a couple of posts on this site about this. It works on mine but it did take me a coupel of tries so try again or search alittle

Thanks - I did find the info in a search.

Yes, I did search before posting earlier - but didn't find the answers that time.

I still have more questions that deserve a new thread - and search hasn't gotten me much.

Thanks again!

The "hack" allows you to use the wireless internet and only pay airtime:

Hiho - that hack only works on the 8900, I've been trying on my 8600 and no luck.

It DOES work.

The funny thing is that it is EASIER on the 8600:

You do not need to hit ##BROWSER on the 8600 - you can get right to the browser settings from the regualr menus. I can't remember exactly what menu, and my wife isn't home for me to look at her 8600 .

But I KNOW you can do it - I did with her phone.

Scroll your menus until you find the stuff about the ports and whatnot. You'll find it.

Thanks. I found it. It works, hopefully I'll be charged air time, not data time--like someone with Verizon service did.
