Has anyone came across this yet?

Have a few things im stuck on, also whether or not to get something to read the SD Card And possibly a bigger card...

Dont really see the point, UNLESS someone has sussed how to get mp3 ringtones working - somehow?

Nope, the GX30 cable is USB. Proper USB, not the USB<>Serial hack that the GX20 had. GX20 cables won't work. I don't know where to buy because I get mine from the source, but they should be available soon I'd think.

As far as I know, MP3's can only be played in the MP3 player app. There are other ways to play music for ringtones, encode them as SMAF's for example.
I use a SanDisk Cruzer SDcard to USB reader. Really neat if you haven't got an SDCard reader built in.

I have a usb inrared adaptor coming soon.I have been told it works great with the gx30.

Ir is also cheaper to buy than the usb cable if you can find one for sale that is.

Only buy a cable etc if you want to edit your phone book or calander.Everything else works with the sd card.

The mp3 player works great with a stereo headset.

No ipod but great for traveling to and from work with.

Is the stereo really stereo? I cludged a 2.5mm plug onto my headphones to give me sound through both speakers but I could only find one channel. The other one seemed to be the microphone. Is a special plug required to pick up the other channel?

Yip I tried that too and got the same so I bought an nec stereo headset/handsfree set.The jack plug has an extra collar/ring at the top on the outside of the jack plug.

With this it is defo 100% stereo

you dont need the data cable to unlock the phone ,all I did was ring vadafone on 191 ,give them the imei number and my vodafone number ( I had to buy a sim card £10) and they are sending the unlock settings within the next 5 days

,on the data cable debate I asked them when they will be available and they are getting them in within the next 10 days priced at £30 with software.
