i have an 8410 and would like to upload ringtones to it. my wireless provider does not have data enabled. can i use the bitpim software with the 8900 settings to do this?

I recently purchased an AudioVOX communications Mobile Office Kit. I just want to use my phone to connect to my local ISP using a 14.4 dial speed.
* I can call the number from my phone and it sounds like a modem answering.
* The AudioVox Communications Software recognizes the phone and says it tests out ok
* The AudioVox Communications Software dials the ISP, gets an IP address, and then it seems the phone drops the connection.
* I've tried using the phone in voice mode, data mode, fax mode, and even tried the analog setting.
* My cellular service provider is Cellular One
Any advice on what I can do for additional troubleshooting?

When you say that you are with CellularONE is it the corporation Western Wireless - I ask b/c that is who I work for!!!!! If you were to use your phone as the modem w/cable - it would be a per charge usage - every minute would be charged $0.39 for data usage - You can call customer care or your local sales office and add a feature - It is called open door - but the feature can run you b/t $35 for limited use - $60 for unlimited use - and that's a per month charge!!!!!! You also have to be in 1x area - if that is what you are wanting that is how you get it
