HELP!!!!!! Problems with Sanyo 6200

I just got a Sanyo 6200 yesterday and and I was told by the tech support guys to return it bcos it has Software problems: It has a Version 1.015 and it's supposed to be 1.008 or something like that. He said my old phone, a Sanyo 4500 has software issues too. I have problems logging into the wireless web and I have to keep calling the tech support guys since it tells me "Key exchange is disabled. call tech support." This had actually been going on for 2 weeks now. I got the 6200 on sale at Radio Shack and I'm wondering if I should just return it and wait for the new phones. I'm just scared the prices may be too high at first. Please advice.

the only software issue with the 6200 is ringers and more doesn't work. and that will be fixed by the next softeware update. keep the phone, it is a good phone and you got it at a good price.

1.015 is the latest software, at initial launch it was 1.013. There are no issues in the logs that state it has a problem with Ringers and More and that phone. I know many people with the same phone and it works just fine. I think most of the problems with Ringers and More is not handset related, it's on the server side.

Are you getting a trouble ticket # from the tech help desk? If you want to PM me I can track it to see what they are doing. I am not aware of anyone else with the key exchange resetting all the time.

When I got my 6000, the first thing I got was the cable (from my dad who had a 5000) and the software (from the forums, naturally

) If you want the custom wallpapers and ringers (who doesn't!) then definitely buy the cable from ebay ($20-$60 - depends on who's selling it and how many people want it at the time) and get the software here at the forums, or buy the whole thing from Sprint for what is it now? - $60? And as for waiting for the newer cooler phones.....THERE WILL ALWAYS BE COOLER PHONES COMING OUT!! facts of life
