5150 Data Cable Problems

I'm experiencing difficulties with the multimedia software and the snapsync software seeing my phone. I've tried 3 different machines here at my work with no luck. I've tried reconfiguring the machines to use verious COM ports, but still doesn't help...also tried both Windows 2000 and XP.
I don't know, maybe I have a faulty cable or Sprint decided to do something to lock out the phone to a 3rd party cable somehow.
Can someone outline the procedure they go through to get their phone to sync up?

That is odd, I just got my cable today. I plugged it in and it worked perfect. I would recommend trying different com ports but you'll already tried that. I wouldn't think the cable would have anything to do with it but who knows.

Was a bad cable. Got a new one and it works great!
