Greetings!

I am new here so please bare with me...

I have an AudioVox CDM8500 phone, with CellularOne (aka Western Wireless)

My phone displays the 1X logo, yet Cellone says it won't work with their 1X network...but the 8600 will. Is there maybe a firmware upgrade to make my phone look like an 8600 to the network? I don't want an 8600. I don't need a color screen, and the 8600 dosen't have a speaker phone, which I use alot.

Also, I got a data cable kit off of E-bay, which is actually a Verizon kit. When I hook it up (USB), the computer sees the phone, but Quicklink says it's not a supported phone. Any idea's there?
