I purchased my 5150 a couple of weeks ago from best buy. Apparently it is a used/returned phone. Someone has already set up a security lock on it and had names in the phone book..Is there a ## code or some way I can unlock it without having to drive 30 miles back to best buy?

Look, I would be pissed if I found out I paid full price for a new phone only to find out that it has been used before.
They should state that it has been used before and sell it to you at a discounted price.
good luck

when ever the phone is programed the lock code is automatically set to the last 4 digits of your phone number. the phone can still be programed even if it is locked. they would only sellyou the phone at full price if it had not been activated.

well it had already been activated and they sold it as a new phone. I did go exchange it today, made sure I was still going to get the $70 rebate.

i would have complained to a manager and tried to get some money taken off the price off the new one you got for your trouble. at my work if a phone has been activated no matter how good of condition it is in we have to send it off to be refurbished and when we get it back it is sold cheeper as a refurbished phone
