Can't find IMEI number

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am a GSM hacker and I am having trouble finding the IMEI number for the Nokia 1260(I know it's an old model but bear with me). The code "*#06#" does not work and there is no 15 digit code on the back of the phone. Is it possible that the phone model is too old or is there something I'm overlooking?
Help me out here....

the reason you can not find an imei is that the phone you are talking about is a tdma phone and not a gsm phone.

Sure you are.

What's that's supposed to mean, carpet pisser?
No hacker knows everything, and that's why I posted this question in hopes of a possibly more experienced hacker would. Notice how this question is about a cell phone...not a computer.
If you don't have anything that could possibly answer my question then stop flapin' your yap. I guess you're just an ignoramus. Or maybe that's just your point-of-view. Well don't expect me to see things from your point-of-view because it's phisically impossible for me to get my head that far up my own butt. Either way, if you don't have an answer to my certain question, then shut your mouth and don't poke fun at me for not knowing one little thing about a cell phone.
Anyways, thanks masazo, I figured it out after playing with it for awhile (by using my friends GSM, instead of my other friend's TDMA).
As for you J T, ever thought of being helpful to someone instead of being a prick?

Thought about it...

I thought it was funny.

Wirelessly posted (SonyEricssonT300/R101)

Tdma uses esns. What are you trying todo?

Posted by: Matriculated

Well, GarageBoy, all I'm doing is unlocking the phone from the network (it's a cingular phone). This, way if I ever want to change providers (like AT&T, T-Mobile etc) I can insert any SIM card(GSM's use these) and it will work in the phone whether it was an AT&T, Cingular, or T-Moble cell phone. That's one reason why providers give away free phones because they have it locked to their network. But since GSM cell phones are going to be phasing out TDMA's and other kinds of cell phones, this method of marketing will be somewhat obselete because we've got the software that allows us to hack the master unlock passwords. Best of all, it's legal.
If you'd like to know more about this, just ask me.

oh wow, are you honestly educating us?

Posted by: kanscelica

Tell me how you put a SIM card into a TDMA phone- i missed this?

Posted by: masazo

gsm= sim card
tdma= no sim card
i think he knows now

Posted by: Matriculated

I'm sorry, kanscelica, there seems to be a misunderstanding. I never put a SIM card in the TDMA phone, I just forgot that TDMA's didn't take SIM's; which is why I could'nt find the IMEI number. But it would be cool if we could, huh?

i think it would be cool if we could. however, we cant so that whole plan goes to the the .

Geez, I AM THE MASTER OF DUMB TRICKS!!! Anyone, with any H E L P at all, would be so much appreciated!!! It does make a real good paperweight, but, I'd sure like to use it again, and not have to get another one!!!! THANK YOU ALL!!!

how can one forget a TDMA doesnt use sim cards?.... always thought that was general knowledge to most people who owned a cell phone. let alone a "GSM hacker"

Posted by: dustinpeng

according to the IMEI's definition, we can get IMEI behind the battery.
and I checked Nokia 1260's user guide and it refers to the phone label located under the battery.
I don't know if there is the IMEI?
or if this is the only way to get IMEI?

Posted by: kubus_stroinski

you can get the imei by pressing *#06# on the phone's keypad also
