when ever I try to update the Palm OS on my Tungsten, it freezes at 13%. My Palm still works fine, except the Versamail freezes when every you select that option. I have reset and wiped the Palm clean, and have also tried completing the update from three different computers. Can anyone help me? I love my Palm, but an jelous of the Blackberry users and their email capabilites.

Did you try doing a hard reset by pressing the power button and reset button at the same time? The next time you Hotsync, change your back-up directory name to something else (this is important) and install the update. Rename your back up directory to Backup again and everything should be ok.

Concerning the VersaMail problem, you should download Filez from www.palmgear.com and delete 2 files: Saved Preferences and Unsaved Preferences. All the settings and registrations will reset, but it should work after this.

Let me know if this helps.

Yes, I have done a hard reset a number of times, and still, when ever I try to do the update, it freezes at exactly 13%. Do you think it could possibly be the Palm itself? I haven't heard of anyone having this problem before. I will try downloading that versamail option though. Thanx

Did you try deleting saved and unsaved preferences? Then renaming the back up directory, and then hotsyncing the update?

I have renamed my files before I did the hotsync after the hard reboot. Do u mean to delete those things off of the pc or the Palm?

Yes, do a hard reset to delete everything from the Palm. And rename your back up directory in the Palm folder so the Hotsync doesn't reinstall everything. Next, install the update on your Tungsten. Then rename your Backup directory to its original name and you have everything back to normal.

p.s.-Hopefully you're not running JackFlash...
