Hey whats up everyone...I was wondering if there is anyway to change the speaker in the GD88...bcuz the speaker phone is WAY too low in volume...doesn't compare to some of the other speaker phones I have heard...let me know if this would be difficult...or fairly easy to do..and if any1 has done it!
Thanks in advance...ROB

I am afraid that you could not change the volume of the speaker unless you ask a certified person to change the speaker itself. It will cost you money though. Anyway, perhaps you might want to increase the volume fo the ringing tones first.
Good luck!

I have the exact same problem as you.
Is it the speaker that's quiet or what?
Where can I find a replacement speaker?
Or is it a gu87 'problem'?
thanks

I'd say it's the hardware issue.
If you upload the exact same ringtone to...say my X70, it would sound MUCH louder than the GD88. I've heard the GD88's ringtone is quite soft, but on the other hand it sounds nice and not shocking coz it isn't TOO loud.
There's a player that I use and it's called PSM player, you can search on the web and download it for free. What it does is adjust the volume of a midi ringtone or convert midi to mmf to make it sounds louder and clear more realistic. You can even get to know how many poly that the ringtone actually has.
Not all ringtones are 16poly....When I know nothing about everything I've just said I just thought...oh....64 poly phone = 64 poly ringtone and 4 poly phone = 4 poly ringtones....WRONG

does the gu87 have a speakerphone too, if so how do you access it?

so it's a hardware problem?
are all the gu87/gd88 low in volume?
Like when youre talking to someone, the vol. is super low~
even after I've adjusted it
i can't stand it, i love the phone, but i guess i'll sell mine if is a known 'problem'.
any input?

i dont think it is really any of the above. If you look at teh construction of teh housing there is not a lot of holes that the sound can come out of. I was considering punching out or cutting out holes in the back where the speaker for teh ringers was but never got around to it. Also for the listening speaker there is pnly one small itty bitty hole if you lok good. I could sugest try making another hole or making it bigger to let more sond throough. I m not to sure who designed the housing cut but compared to other phones the speaker ports are really small

Yeah, but still, i think it's too quiet!
okay as long as i'm not the only one with the problem, i thought my phone was flawed heheh

I always find that my GD87's speaker is not loud enough. I guess this is a problem so I have always put it under the standard ringing tone.
