Hi,

what do you guys think about the ux50? I was gonna get the th55b but its too $$ especially since they corrected the price in expansys..

I want a pda(hopefully palm) to do:

-surf
-im
-email
-maybe edit stuff (html, word doc)
-maybe fun stuff like mp3, watch movies when bored, etc.

as for text input, I was thinking of using some BT foldable keyboard.

and will prob use either BT or wi-fi at home for internet.

would the ux50 do all of these well? can I download palm apps from the pda's browser and install from there? or do I need a PC to download then sync up?

I rather have a th55 but if there is another that is just as good, i'll settle for that.

yeah... i know...

its gonna be about 600CAD+ from expensys

btw, how did you like your ux50?

i've sold my ux-50, screen was too small battery was not up to expectation, unless you buy the external battery....

how long did the battery last?

how was surfin? im? and other stuff that u do on it?
was the keyboard actually useful?

well, using wifi, i think, it last around an hour and using bluetooth was around an hour half to 2 hours, that is a full blast bluetooth connection, surfing well, its great actually, using netfront and for im, you can always use verichat, multi IM but remember, palm doesn't support multitasking, keyboard, yeap, i love it....with backlight, right now, i have a th55/e on order, will be here in about a week or two, that's a wifi+bt version, no keyboard though.

hmm..that is short.

no multitasking meaning i can't have an IM waiting to get msgs while i'm surfing?

unfortunately, yeap, can't have im waiting to get msgs when you're surfing, but hey, it's always been like that on palm, but hopefully that changed with cobalt *os6*

or i can get a cheaper ppc unit...
