GD55 Turning off Problem

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hello, I have owned a GD55 for 4 months now and recently it has started to act up. It seems to turn off randomly for no reason. The battery seems to be working fine, so it is probably not a battery issue. If I have it sitting in my house, it does not turn off. But when I travel around it turns off. Has anybody else ever experience this problem or have any suggestions. It is kind of frustrating having to keep checking if you phone is on or off all the time. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

Have you tried another battery? The battery itself might be fully working, but the actual contacts might not be functioning right...this happens a lot on cordless phones too..

Clean the gold/silver contacts on the bottom of the battery and the phone, if it doesn't get better, try another battery, if that doesn't work, call Panasonic.

I also had exact same problem with my first G50. Does the phone get warm while charging? It did on mine. It doesn't happen with my "new" G50 (I got it exchanged).

i had the same problem.....it's not a serious problem at first....but lately it's getting worse....it would suddenly goes off when i'm trying to make phone calls or just pressing it......sometimes it would let me answer a call and it freezes itself.....

i thought that it was the battery...so i change another one...but it still happens to me....so dun think it's a battery problem after all.....

if anyone knows how to fix it pls help us out....it be a BIG thanx.....=)

I have a G51E with a similar problem. I bought it in Hong Kong (from a reputable store, with a HK warranty), and now I'm thousands of miles away.

Is it just the battery that needs to be replaced, or is it more serious? The phone charges and turns on okay, but after a while (not regular), it just shuts off. :-(

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

man, i think this is a bug.... this sucks!!!

(does your phone searches for signal before it automatically shutsoff? - it is the phones normal behavior when it cannot camp on the network in a low signal areas)

Have it check with your local svc. center.
Try to have a latest software ver.

After numerous service repairs (free of charge) and replacing the mainboard, the phone now appears to work properly without switching off suddenly.

I had a similar issue but then I changed the housing and then it worked perfectly after that.

my girlfriend had the same problem, it was faulty solder connection. when the phone was used a lot or got hot, there was a loose connection on the solder and the phone would shut off randomly. we brought it to bongowireless and they repaired the faulty solder and now there hasn't been a problem since.
