Hey guys,
I accidentally deleted the original midi ringtones, the ones in the music folder. Are they on the net somewhere? Thanks.

I didnt think you could actually get rid of the default ringtones, i think they are not on the list but still on the phone.

do you have a data cable? if so you could probably do something in the file system that makes them show up again.

Well, I didn't delete all my ringtones, just the ones in the music folder. I have the data cable and while sending a mp3 file in, I accidently use the replace option with bitpim, so that mp3 replaced all of the music in the folder. So, any place for the original ones? thanks.

I have the OEM ones save on my other computer. I"ll upload them later when I get a chance.

Even if you delete all of the ringtones out of your music folder, they are still one your phone. An example is is you go to "tools" in the menu and set up an alarm... your choices for the alarm sound are all of the songs in the music folder (such as your mp3s) and all of the default ringtones that came with the phone.

yeah thats what i was saying, go into the file system with bitpim and delete all the ringer maps ( I forget where they are in the file tree). Power cycle the phone and see if they are back in the list in the media folder

Well, I looked through my filesystem and the ones in my music folder aren't there. I do have most of my ringtones, just the ones in my music folder are gone. Any more help?

all you need to do is power off the phone, then power it back on and they should be there again. i actually hate that cause i don't want them, they are useless to me. i deleted all of them in folder 7 (My Media Music) then shut the phone off before i went to bed. i turned it on in the morning and they were there again for some odd reason. i just don't understand it because if you delete a picture, it never comes back, but for some reason the annoying tones never go away no matter how many times you delete them!

I guess it depends how you deleted your original ringtones in the music folder. For me, they are gone forever; I accidentally used the replace option in bitpim, so either they are gone or bitpim messed with my filesystem making them 'gone', but I really don't think the latter is right. I usually power off my phone at night; power it back on in the morning and, yes, they are still not there. I don't really like those ringtones, but it would be nice to have the originals stored somewhere like on my computer.
