just have quick questions, is this phone can be
hooked up with its sync software
(N8 memory editor or something else from NEC France)
through irda dongle or must have an usb cable?
and is there any size limit for uploading each ringtone?
(like samsung phones 40k max per each)

Yes, you must have the usb cable to transfer ringtones and picuters... this cannot be done via IRDA on the NEC 515/525. Max size for a picture is 65,536 bytes and max size for a ringtone is 32,768 bytes according to the N8 memory editor software. This should be the same for the 515/525. Hope that helps

This is what NEC sent me:

Dear customer,

The maximum size of an image or animation is 20kB.The max size of a ringtune is 32kB.
The max size of the phone's memory is 1MB. This includes images, sounds, and animations.
