A bit confused??

I'm ready to get a data cable for my VM Slider, to download new wallpapers to the phone. I've been doing some reading in the threads here and have read some conflicting (to me, anyway) information. My question is, which cable will allow you to download the wallpapers, the serial cable or the USB? Which cable works with Bitpim and/or Gagin, or can you use either cable for both programs?

I have the usb cable and it works with both programs

ifyou dont want to take a chance get the serial cable but the usb has worked for many people too they both do the same things and work with the same programs but the usb has had problems with gagin
