Buy a Treo in Europe?

I've been thinking for the longest time to get the Treo 600.
My friend just went to Switzerland about 2 weeks ago to work there. Is it worth it to ask him to pick one up locally and send it to me? - cost wise. Curious also if they have the qwerty keyboard or not in switzerland. I heard some places have a different keyboard makeup).

Secondly, it would most probably be unlocked I presume coming from europe?

the next big question will be, is the treo locked?
if it isn't well, maybe you could try BUT the phone 'might' be optimized for switzerland network....

The question is, "Why?" In my experience products in Europe are almost always more expensive because of both pricing and the VAT (hmmm, does Switzerland have a version of the VAT???).

From my perspective there are just too many things - including import taxes - that can go wrong. Buy it here.
