i just got an email about "credit card authorization failed" for my Tero 600 order. they said i would have to place an order again from their website (it is what the email said). I have been waiting for this Tero600 for 1 month, and today is the day which it should be shipped out. i am very sure i entered my cc' expiration date correct. I wonder if they are playing trick to just refuse my order!!

i will call them tomorrow to find out

Be mad at Palm One since there is no more Handspring.

I hope you get your Treo soon. You'll love it.

oops! heh

I really hope to get my Treo soon. I have been waiting it for 1 month (ordered on Feb 28th). I will see what the salesrep can help me this morning. I cannot wait until 8am PST to call.

That sucks...call palmOne and give them grief.. The Treo 600 is worth all the trouble!

Posted by: superfire

it turns out it was because my credit card did the routin monitor on transactions.

i just reordered the treo 600 but it won't be reinstated of the ship date. that means i have to wait until end of April / early in May.

I was so close to get the Treo600. If it was approved on the credit card company, and I should be getting it on early next week.

I am just TOOO P*SSED OFF!

meaning: treo 600 is the hot stuff from palmOne now?
hmm, weird, i can get one @ palmcafe here rather easily....

ps: palmCafe is palmOne subsidiaries...or should i say shop?

Posted by: superfire

it has been a hot stuff since it released.

Yeah good point.

Is the Treo 600 sold out everywhere? You might end up paying a little more, but why not just go buy one somewhere else. If you want one bad enough I'm sure you'll be able to find one somewhere.

An indicator of how hot the Treo 600 has been for palmOne:-

Sounds like you should be upset at your CC company. My wife had a CC transation refused in AZ a couple of weeks ago. Had to get on the phone and verify a number of recent purchases before they would allow the hotel to charge. It can be embarassing as well as agrivating. I am torn between the problem that such refusal causes and the fact that I would want them to "alert" on some purches in case the card is stolen.

The Treo is definitly worth having.

I realized it was my CC refusing the charges
i reordered it on Friday but I did not get an order number from them yet. going to call back on Monday to ask for sure. I just hope they did reorder it for me.

You have every right to be angry with Handspring if they canceled the order when the card was declined, but you might want to explore other credit cards.

Not all credit cards are the same -- some companies will make at least a token attempt to call you and verify the legitimacy of a transaction before blocking the charge.

If you have a pretty good credit history, you might explore getting an American Express card. Most AmEx customers are business customers -- you haven't seen an adult throw a fit until you've seen how a CTO reacts when told that his new PDA is going to be delayed because the credit card company messed up the order!

Posted by: superfire

actually it was not handspring's fault at all. but again, the cc tried to protect my benefit. anyway, order has replaced but i have already missed last shipment. need to wait for another month or so.

i have the AMEX blue, and i do not really like it. my visa card gives me mileages on airline :P :P

oh well.. lesson learned. i remember when i went on 1 month vacation, i called the cc company to let them know some charges would be coming from asia countries. all i wanted to know was to make sure they did not deny any charges.
