E&B Treo 600 Slipper Case, Review with pictures

Okay. After almost two months of waiting I finally received my E&B Treo 600 slipper case. Since I didn't own one of the original releases of the case I can't compare it to the older version. To be honest I have no way of knowing if this is indeed an update case or not. Hopefully someone who owns one of the first release version will take a look at this thread and compare.

My initial impression is one of disappointment. The case uses Velcro. It has a Velcro closure for the flip as well as a Velcro clasp to attach or remove the flip completely. I hate Velcro.

The leather isn't the greatest of quality. It by no means compares to Vaja, Piel Frama or Covertec. The leather is soft not stiff. That I can live with though. High quality leather isn't a big concern for me.

The unique thing about the case is it's the only flip case which has a see through plastic insert. You can see who's calling you without having to actually open the case up.

The flip piece can be completely removed from the case as seen here:

And here:

This case does have all the necessary cut outs. Including reset, headset, sync, camera, and side buttons. However, there is no access to the SD card while the case is on.

One thing about the case which probably will appeal to most is that it has a very slim profile with the clip on. Probably the slimmest out of any belt style case that requires a clip that I've seen. This means it does not hang far away from your body. This in itself is a great bonus.

The fit of the case is not the greatest. The bottom portion fits the phone just fine. The flip part just doesn't seem to fit very well. I am using the Treo 600 with egrips and it does fit fine.

The way the phone fits into the bottom part of the case is also unique. The case uses an elastic strap to hold the Treo in place. Although this makes it rather hard to first insert the phone into the case, once it's in it's not going any where.

My gut tells me this case is going to end up in the pile of Treo 600 cases I've bought and ended up not using. Mostly it's the Velcro which bothers me. It never really feels secure and has an overall cheapness to it. If this case had snaps or magnectic closure/clasps it would make a huge difference.

Is this case for you? If you're looking for a in-expensive, flip style case, which allows you to view incoming calls without opening the flip, probably so. If you don't like Velcro and are looking for a more luxurious case, then probably not.

I wrote this up kind of quickly. If I've forgotten anything or anyone has any specific questions about the case, post them here and I'll be glad to answer them.
