I've never even seen an english website with an okwap phone

Posted by: FoneNut

Weel I have seen both. I think Inno i much smaller. As for function wise, it's about the same, but S762 has 4mb. I dun know about Inno. Also the cam fucntion is the same as the Samsung E700/715. Not sure about Inno again.

Tiger have u gotten ur OKWAP?

Posted by: tiger33

just checked fedex tracking

and the package is finally in my city so should be here by the end of the day

once i've had a play around with it i'll post a review of the phone at www.mototone.co.uk

but from the specs isnt the okwap a more complete device?

i've heard of alot of problems with the inno

similar specs on both phones...

here are some of the differences/comparisons - you decide

okwap - dual band (900/1800)
inno- tri-band

okwap - 40 poly ringtones
inno - 60 poly ringtones

okwap - fm radio
inno - no radio

okwap - no mp3 ringtone capabilities
inno - mp3 ringtones (with data cable)

okwap - programmable 7 color incoming call indicator (you can select which color flashes with particular call groups)
inno - 7 color led ring (no programmable function)

okwap & inno - 300k cmos vga camera

okwap - supports java
inno - no java

okwap - pda functions - complete with handwriting recognizing software (it maybe for chinese only though - could be wrong on that one) - also - it comes with a stylus - but it doesnt fit into the phone or anything - more like a pen that comes with it
inno - no pda functions

both come in white or in silver

they both have their pros and their cons - i suppose if the okwap came in tri-band and supported mp3s - i would have gone with that one - the pda functions arent that big a deal to me but i know some people will love that feature

thats all - enjoy

inno 90's is suppose to be ccm, which is better than cmos but worse than ccd, just what i've heard.

Posted by: braindead5400

the ring isn't LED based, its fiber optic, much better looking

Posted by: Kricket

spirals - it is a cmos camera - unfortumately - but it still gives you sized of up to 640 x 480

braindead - youre absolutely right - it is a fiberoptic ring

my bad!

Yup, both phones have their pros and cons. Anyway Tiger, should u need any help with the phone, just PM me. guess it might be a bit difficult for you since the default language is in Chinese.

yep i got the phone now

been playing around with it for a few hours

but confused with a few things

one is

how do i get a picture taken with the camera onto the PC via the USB cable?

also why the hell is that SD predictive text so ×××× slow

but on a plus side the pen is excellent

(i will review the phone soon)

if u could help me with the picture problem that would be great

because i know have the phoen i'll also be supporting it on the mototone website (gonna include about 200 = images and other downloads for the okwap)

Posted by: FoneNut

That's great! How do u find the screen display? I think the predictive text is slow too. So slow it sucks hahaha. Anyway to make your PC recognise the phone do the following:

1.Install, the USB-Serial port driver, this is to help ur PC recognise the phone.

2.Install the PC sync( Sync-Me) software which allows u to download or upload files to ur PC.

3.To a connection, I dun have my phone with me so roughly, go to PDA functions menu, then choose connect to PC(Make sure your phone is already connected to the PC via the USB cable while choosing this function) when it is connected it will detect your files in the PC n then u can move files t0-fro the PC-Phone.

Hope this helps. Anyway the Software is in english so it's no problem from here onwards.

ok but i dont get an opetion to transfer my "my album" folder

and this is where my pictures are (that are taken with the camera)

Posted by: FoneNut

well, I have got the same problem, just click around the folders, play around with other folders, I dunno how i did it, it just suddenly appeared. Do check where the folders are, cos sometimes the pics may go into other folders instead, it may be a bug problem. Where and how much did u get the phone?
