Are current Palm's upgradable to Cobalt?

Does anyone know if the existing Palm OS devices are upgradable to Cobalt? In particular I am looking at a Sony Clie UX40 and want to make sure it's not going to be obsoleted soon.

there will be Palm OS 5.5 (or something like that) and similar of the Cobalt. but , as i read, all palm os 5 devices wont be able to upgrade Cobalt.

ok, i'd take back my word, according to some websites, t|t3 might be upgradeable to cobalt....via rom updates....
duh, can't find the exact stuff, but i know i've read it @ brighthand.com
