Keep dust out of the Inno 90? - Raise your hand!

Hey guys,

Ok, Im sure many people have wondered how to keep dust out of the external LCD Screen of an Inno 90. Now, I've been told that there is basically 2 points of entry. The speaker, and the screen.

As far as I can tell, it seems that most of the dust enters from the speaker. I could be wrong, but for the longest time dust never entered the phone until the speaker sticker was removed. But this is just my observation. As of this point I have a no idea if the screen or not really does contribute significantly to the dust problem. It has been pointed out that for dust to enter the speaker, it would need to travel a fair bit in order to get to the LCD. It does seem more likely that the screen cover itself is where dust is getting in (Fine dust partials).

Now, in regards to taking apart the phone, has anyone attempted to seal the phone up themselves, and was it successful? Does anyone know for sure which areas are the actual culprits for letting in dust?

I think you have to seal it by getting a different plastic seal or something. Some people have had them sealed up when going to like a service center in HK or something.

I am going to put silicon on the faceplate so that it will create a tight flexible seal around the outer screen to keep dust out

Where can you purchase "silicon"? I don't even know what that is

home depot or menards (in US) any major hardware store really. It comes in caulking tubes but I would put it in something smaller so that I can get a thin bead

So it's basically kind of like a tube of "something"?

yeah, its usually used as a sealant so maybe it will seal my screen
