i'm wondering if it is at all possible to unlock the sanyo rl2500/5400 for use on other CDMA networks. i know that many samsung phones could have this done, and in years past i'd considered it, but my current CDMA phone is now too old that it's not worth the process. any advice?

thanks!

Yes it is, you need the sprint msl code to your phone.

To get the msl you can do a little research on sprintusers about bitpim (a program) and you will need a data cable. The MSL in in the system files, I found it on my 5500. You could also activate the phone thru sprint (over the phone) and write down the 6 digit number they give you that begins with ##.

Hope this helps.

To follow up on Tim's question, can someone please explain the steps after using Bitpim and a data cable? I can view the filesystem info. using Bitpim including the MSL, but it won't let me change the info. and upload it to the phone b/c it says the file is locked. ?
Thanks.

So far Bitpim does not allow you to enter the msl, thus the file's cannot be overwritten. I have sen't them the suggestion, to add the ability to enter the msl, thus allowing the overwrite feature to work. I have the ability to overwrite the OKTSL, but with another program.

ognib311 email me....
