Ok, so I got the 4500 cable, but can I use it on the 4400 or the 6000?

It will work with the 6000, but not the 4400.

In order to make it work with the 6000 you have to go to Menu --> 9 Settings --> 6 1x Data --> 2 Select Port --> RS-232C (COM PORT)

Moved to the software forum.

ok, how come verizon sells the same kit for the 4400b and the 4500? does the B make a difference???

Do I need to change the driver for the cable maybe??

When checking the Verizon store's selection of 4400B (and 4400) accessories (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/...G&model=VX4400B) I don't see any datacable what-so-ever. OTOH I do find a datacable for the 4500 (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/...Data%20Products)

If you could direct me to a link on the Verizon site showing that they offer the same cable for the 4400 and 4500 I would be quite interested in seeing that, because AFAIK there is no possible way for a cable to be compatable with both phones.

FYI the 4400 and 4400B are the same phone, except the 4400B is colored blue (and possibly has a newer revision of the firmware.)

This is getting weird, I found the cabel ont he b2b link that is 35% off.
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2b/...DataName=ACCESS
should work, it has it for the 4400b, it is probably not right, but I suppose it won't kill the phone if I try it on it..... Will it??

My sister has the 4400 and wants some pics put on it and doesnt want to spend the money on a USB cable since she has no PC

While they do look the same, they are not. For one, there is a different software bundle with each. I also searched through the forums some more and found at least one thread where someone confirmed that the 4400 cable does not work with the 4500, and vice-versa. Sadly I lost the link to that thread...

If you want to transfer pictures to your sister's phone you will need a 4400 data cable

Does any 4500 cable work on the 6000, and any 6000 cable work on the 4500?

I have an RPI charging cable for the VX6000 on order from RPIWireless and would like it to work with both phones, or I'll return it and get another, if I can figure out the compatibility between these two phones & cables.

Posted by: Bartman007

AFAIK all 6000 charging cables are true USB cables, and as such they will not work with the 4500. All 4500 cables will work with the 600, but not all 6000 cables will work with the 4500. Any 6000 cable that lacks the box mid-cable absolutely will not work. Any non-charging 6000 cable with the box mid-cable willl work with 4500.

Sorry if that explanation seems confusing, I'm working on 3 hours of sleep

Thanks. I'll try to return my charging USB VX6000 cable (with box) to rpiwireless... and get a 4500 cable.

Only problem is that Rpiwireless doesn't answer the phone, doesn't return calls, and doesn't reply to emails...
