Hi fellow hofo members,

I'm thinking of buying a SE P900 from expansys-usa.com with t-mobile service. Has anyone dealt with them before and how would you rate their customer service?

They have the P900 for $789.45. Signing with T-mobile through them would give me $100 off and shipping is $8 so total comes out to $697.45 is it worth it.

Also, how is T-mobile service on the east coast, mainly from CT to MD.

Thanks,
DBW

han-jee!

expansys is very legit; also consider just-talk

Virtual Dynamix as well.... www.globalmob.com

no problems here with expansys (USA). ordered a p800 from them (1-day shipping) and got it the following day!!!

thanks for your prompt replies guys...

i was just on the phone with just-talk and they don't activate phones with a DE number so can't go that route. And GlobalMob sells the phone but no activation so i'll be payin 749.99 for the phone...whereas i can still save $50.

i talked to the guys at expansys they don't have the phone in stock right now...but the guy i talked to said he would pull one out as soon as it got in stock and call me, and he said would give me free overnight shipping so saving a few more dollars...

Currently, we can only offer T-Mobile service to Southern California customers.

I got my 900 from them back in Nov. I had a couple of problems placing the order. The 900's were selling out like crazy. My credit card company showed the two lines that I keyed in for my billing address reversed so Expansys basically rejected the order without calling me or anything. I was pissed. The 20 or so units in stock was sold out within thirty minutes of me placing the order. I eventually figured out that my apartment number was listed on the first line and street address was on the second. I placed another order and everything went okay from there. They shipped Fedex and required *my* signature at the door so be prepared to be home to sign for the package. I will order from them again in the future. ( I haven't dealt with customer service enough to comment on it)

I have tmobile in Colorado. Service is great... no complaints. I've roamed in the East but only on Cingular's network.

I just ordered a P900 from Expansys and ordered 2-day service and got it today! Everything was in excellent condition. I would consider using them again for a future purchase. Also, they do offer a 14-day return policy, which I did not find anywhere else.

The last two days they have had a B-Stock P900 for $255.55. I called today to inquire about the phone and they said it doesn't exist. I now have to question their advertising ethics if they are advertising products that they don't have. Here is the link to the B-Stock price page, Expansys B-Stock .

I bought a P800 from expansys last year, and they shipped it super fast (2 days), but when I got it, there was a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen, I contacted Expansys, and they exchanged it for another brand new one with no problems...

I guess i'm gettin the phone from expansys-usa.com i talked to them and once they get them in stock sometime next week i'll get one. so i'll be paying $689.45 with free overnight shipping and service with T-Mobile...

Thanks for all your help...

I might be alone on this but I dealt with Expan. in the USA and it was a bad experience. I dont want to go into too many details but all I have to say is it finaly came down to me contacting amex and forcing them to credit back my payment. If you get a defective product like I did you will be stuck with sending it to SE unless you have a gold amex that will back you up. As for me, no more expansys. I rate the experience with Expansys a D- rating. The only reason it is not an F is because I got my money back. Thanks AMEX!

For those who bought from expansys-usa.com, how did you get a service activation discount? I am interested in the Sony Ericsson z600, which expansys-usa.com has for $438.45, but I see no mention of a service activation discount.
On the other hand, globalmob.com has the same phone for $315, but I see above that they can only activate T-Mobile in Southern CA - I'm in Virginia.
Also, anyone have experience getting expansys-usa to pricematch? If I can get them to match $315, and activate for a $50 or more off discount, that would be perfect.
thanks

Hey AirlineMusuem,

Once you add the z600 to the cart then click on this link

http://www.expansys-usa.com/other.asp?cat=TARIFF

and the very last one is for a tmobile rate plan. you will get $100 discount so your total would come to $338.45.

What you should actually do is goto:

http://www.ustronics.com/soerz6wogsmc.html

they can activate the z600 $264.95 on cingular, depending on where you live...they have a list of area codes that they can activate on.

I would activate through them coz they got the P900 for $559.99 with activation, but i'm not too fond of cingular's service. I'd rather go with T-Mobile and the other reason is that they can't activate for me coz i live in Delaware...just my luck...

i checked out www.just-talk.com and i have the same problem...they activate with t-mobile but they don't activate in DE.

you should check them out coz with t-mobile they can activate the phone for $224.99 and with Cingular its $144.99 on the highest plan of course.... That's a hell of a deal if you live in the NY metro or North NJ area...

Also, something else to consider is that the Z600's from Global Mobility come with the latest firmware and US english at the $315 price and there is no 1 year contract.

Hello everyone,

To those who bought P900 from either Expansys, GlobalMob, or Just-Talk, can you please let me know the following:

1. Firmware version (check from System Tools)
2. Mfr. information as shown on the "white sticker" affixed to the side of the phone BOX. It should show something like this:

P900 - Urban Grey - AE, XL
DPY 1234567890 R9A

3. Power plug: is it original for US or you have to use a CONVERTER ATTACHMENT to convert the plug to US.

When responding, please let me know where did you ge the phone.

Expansys-usa looks good but for Canadians there is a warranty/service issue.

Anyone thinking about just-talk should investigage the search button feature above, e.g.,

just-talk thread

It's almost enough to make me want to pay retail. : (

if any canadians are thinking about using expansys, AVOID ups ground -- you're going to get jacked on customs brokerage fees

Thanks for the info Desiboy!

For AOL AIM application, there is one called Agile Messenger.
I think there's a version for the P900, but not sure.
