Does anybody know if there is a way to use uploaded pics as the caller id? And if there is no way, then is there a way to purchase new graphics for caller ids, even through Get It up the @$$ Now? I just want new pic ids!!! The ones on there are really dumb!!! Actually, that one blonde girl's kind of hot. I asked her out but she said no. Thanks!

you remind me of this one guy that called loveline that was totally OBSESSED with japanimation, and said he would ONLY go out with asian girls ( he was white by the way...) i don't think you can.. is it really that big of a deal?

It would be nice, wouldn't it? The pic id, not the whole japanamation thing. It just seems like since they let you use clip art as "pic" ids, there'd be a way to use real ones. But what really surprises me is that Verizon doesn't have an app offering new ones. Hmm... I thought they were greedy.

I agree that it would be nice. Some corny pics of your friends/family coming up when they call you. Like I said before though, I don't think it can be done with the current s/w.

why couldnt you just find the files on the file system of your phone and replace them with new ones?

So I'm guessing that as of yet, there is no confirmed way to load pics as caller ids. Anybody know if Verizon has a way to purchase new faces? Anymore monkey faces?

I found these instructions online:

1) Download PICTAVISION from Get It Now.
2) Register at: www.dotphoto.com
3) Edit pictures on your PC to fit your screen and save as jpg.
4) Upload your pics to the web site.
5) Access you pics through your phone.
6) Download you favorite pics to your phone.
7) Set them as Wallpaper or Caller ID

Yeah, I've already tried that. It only gives me the option to make it a wallpaper or screensaver. No caller ID. It sucks! Why wouldn't they let you do it? It doesn't make any sense. Anywho, I've decided to return my slider today. I'm just gonna wait for the v710. Picture ID, speakerphone, bluetooth, + everything else the slider has (pretty much) plus more!!! Well, except for the slidy thing. Ahhh, I am going to miss the slidy thing.

You can do it... I put mine in the phone via TransFlash...

You'd access the memory card... mark the pictures you want by pressing 0 at each... then copy them into the phone's internal memory. After that you just go to the phonebook entry> Edit> Picture ID> then up/down to select the picture. This also works for the pictures you've already taken with the phone's internal camera... which is the simpler way of doing it, especially if you don't have a TF card.

V710.org used to have wallpaper for the phone... Does anyone know where we can get some besides making it yourself.

Memory cards for the v710 are called TransFlash Memory Cards. I purchased my 128MB TF card from R a d i o S h a c k for 69bucks. You can put pictures on this card via the SD card reader adapter thing that comes with it. Then when you want to access the media from your phone, you go to the picture menu and choose [switch storage device]... at that point you can access your media. Take care to put pictures in the picture folder under the shared directory or you won't see them. Put MP3's under the Sounds directory (i believe) etc....

wait are these instructions for a V710? I think the subject of the thread is Verizon SLider......
