Of course. But since this has been asked and answered many times here I guess people are simply tired of always typing the same for other guys too lazy to use the forum search.

The best way to fing the life time timer is to hit menu, scroll to phone set up, click select, scroll to call set up, click select, scroll to time and charge, click select;and your there. this will give your total and life time timer. Athough your able to erase your life timer

The batch version sometimes can be found on the back of the phone,behind the battery, obove where the sticker where the imei and serial number is listed. On some s40s it;s listed over the made in denmark with a sticker.

If you have the data cable for this phone, your able to get all the information needed. This is a great tool. As you know this is not the most friendly device. with the data cable your able to learn short cuts, uploading downloading your phone book, change fonts and screen display and update to the newest sopftware version. Just need to have the data cable, be online and click the siemens link. The rest is easy.

Through a data cable you can neither learn shortcuts nor change fonts. And only the greeting logo can be changed, not the operator logo.

interesting..

I have an s40 through cingular which is unlocked, with this I have changed my screen display. Although i must correct myself, i did not change my screen logo or font display through the siemens website but through an other wireless site. I do use my phone with cingular and voice stream although I have over wrote the name with a replacement.....

To discover what SW Version you have, enter *#06# on your phone. You will first see the IMEI code. Write this down if you plan to unlock your phone, as you will need it. Use the button on the side of the phone to scroll down. You will now see the SW Version of your phone. IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE INFORMATION ON THIS SUBJECT, DO A SEARCH ON THIS FORUM. THIS SUBJECT HAS BEEN DESCRIBED MILLIONS OF TIMES!!!

BTW: This works only with SW 2.9.0 or higher.
