help with z200 cable please.....

hi ppl. this is my first thread here.just bought a cable for ericsson.its actually for SE T610.but i was told that it can be used for z200 also.well right now the prob is that my phone is not connecting to my pc,windows XP,the cable apparently installs fine and acquires a com port.but none of the unlockingsoftware i have recongnize the phone,not even the SE image editor sees my phone.anyones have experience with this.greatly appreciated..
