Can you help me to choose a phone?

Hello,

I am illegible for h/w upgrade and I try to choose between 3 phones.
I do need flip phone.
I don’t really need camera, but will take it as a bonus.
Which one would be the better choice?
- Sanyo SCP-8100
- Audiovox CDM-8600
- Samsung SPH-A660/VI660

Have you given thought that the 8100 is about two upgrades from the top level right now. After the 8200 is introduced fairyly soon, the ebay value of an 8100 will be greatly reduced--IMHO you might want to consider either waiting for the 8200, or get one of the other current phones which have both, better sms and the rl, regardless of whether you will use it now or not--it's not going to cost a lot more, and you will have the *latest * version --my suggestion is to go with either the 5500 or the 7300; I was pleasantly surprised as to how much better I liked both the 5400 and 5500 over the 5300--never owned a 8100.

what do the rest of you think?

I have the choice between these 3 phones only in Bell Canada.
8100 was just introduced Apr. 2, 2004, so 8200 will be next year here.

Sanyo SCP-8100 or Samsung SPH-A660/VI660 are both good choices.

Get the Samsung A620 with the WL15 firmware. No bugs. Far supurior than the old rustic 8100. Screen is bigger, looks nicer. Vision works like a charm. Camera is better than 8100's. Voice commands work great.

And before people try and brainwash you how bad the reception is on this phone, let me tell you that the Sanyo's reception bar is FAR more optimistic than the A620's. The 8100 will just drop from full signal to no signal just like that. The A620 will show what is really there ALL of the time. The voice quality on the 8100 is just flat out bad

It is distorted like HELL. The A620 sounds crystal clear even at full volume. The ringers on the A620 are much louder than the sanyo's. Heck the sanyo doesn't even have a fricken alarm clock.

Get the Vga1000 (A620) !!!!!!!!

There's pros and cons to all of them. I like Sanyo, but that's just me. I would go with whichever one strikes you as meeting your needs best when you look at them at the store.
