Make your own -- buy a cheap faceplate off eBay, mask off the appropriate areas, and spraypaint it.

nah i want a real nice finish...and my spraypainting skills are lacking. not to mention it scratches easily and whatnot....and i have little free time these days....

I'm pretty desperate for an orange one, so I MIGHT try that.

I FOUND AN ORANGE (darkish, but not red) HOUSING FOR TEH v300.

I also found an orange faceplate for v600...

Posted by: TheGSRGuy

Spray it with orange and then clearcoat it for added protection.

XAY J where did you get the housing?? Hopefully you kept the link for me!!!

Most of the faceplates on ebay are cheap and the paint scratches off eventually, so your better off painting it yourself. Im probably gonna do that for my v400. Does anyone know where to buy unpainted faceplates/housing for the v400?

oh yea, as a plastic modeler,
spray painting it will not work,
even if u add a clear glaze.

paint will melt at a certain temperature,

you will start to leave finger prints and oil prints etc...
it will look nasty.

one way is you can try is putting a layer of primer over it, spray with color, then clear

let it air out for like a hour or so for each layer. if u don't, you'll leave prints, and would have to sand the whole thing over.

if u re-spray it, it might leave air bubbles

best way is make your own resin cast and mold.
i can help you do that
