(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: jamzi

Ive had a search around and cant find a good thread like this so thought id start one myself

Let everyone see the kinda pics you take with your phone!

Heres some from me to get things started

Posted by: jamzi

Are you looking at me?!!

Posted by: jamzi

Can anyone tell me how you get your picture to appear in your post rather than a download link for it?

Posted by: jamzi

Nobody gets near my pc!!!!

Posted by: skylineRTX

like this???

Posted by: jamzi

Yeah!!!
How do you do that?

Posted by: Bence8810

You need to have the picture online somewhere. For example http://www.yourdomain.com/yourpicture.jpg

When you have that, you start the post, and you click on IMG button right above where you write your message, and insert the picture's URL. That is all mate.

Here is a picture I took with my GX22s

Its a Ford GT40 that I passed -> however it was being towed. I guess under no circuimstance could I have ever pass a GT40 otherwise

Here's a pic taken with my GX-20 at the Bellagio conservatory:

Posted by: Bence8810

One question:

Is it possible, to change that file name output somehow? It always makes pic001 pic002 etc. It doesnt have a counter, to keep track of it? It is very hard to store the pictures in one folder, and I have to rename each picture. Very annoying.

Posted by: Blazers4ever

No, I don't think it's possible. Unfortunately it looks like you can only change it manually.

Posted by: Bence8810

Thanks Blazers. I hope the GX32 has this changed, so we can save pictures over and over to the same folder on our PC, without having to rename each picture always.

Posted by: jamzi

does anyone know any good (by good i mean free!) servers for hosting pics on?

Posted by: Bence8810

You put one too many http://

Posted by: jamzi

so did you see my post before i edited it there Bence?!

Posted by: Bence8810

YEs. You put one too many http://

WHen you click IMG, it will give you the http:// automatically as default. So be aware, and dont repeat that part.

Posted by: jamzi

hhhmmm still cant get it to work
Does it matter that im trying to use my faceparty profile to host the pic mate?

Posted by: Bence8810

You are on the right track there mate. But your URL doesnt seem like a valid image, for instance one that ends with .jpg .gif etc.

Is this what you want?

Posted by: jamzi

right ok mate. can you recommend anywhere i could use for hosting my pics then?

Posted by: Bence8810

When I went to the URL that you provided, I saw the image, but it waws generated by a database. So all I did is rightclicked the image, properties, and there is the direct link to the image.

Cheers

The one you have is perfect. Just always you need to give the "true" URL to the picture. And by right clicking on the image at your webspace, and choose properties will give you a bunch of data, one that is the URL you need.

Posted by: jamzi

thats excellent mate, thanks alot for your help
I get free webspace with my broadband provider so im looking into using that for my pics as i type this!!
Thanks again bud, much appreciated

Posted by: Bence8810

Dont mention it!

Hope to see some nice pics from you./

GX20 pics:

Macro shots -

Normal shots -

Night shots -

Posted by: Jonas

Seems like GX30/32 takes pretty good nightshots to

Posted by: Koofteh

This is probably a stupid question, but what's the difference between the macro and portrait mode? Just that portrait is for close-up pictures and macro for others?

Its the other way around
-Portrait is for normal pictures
-Macro is for close up shots

Flip... do u think u can answer this for me?
Have you tried / Do you think those pictures are printable in 4 X 6 picture quality? ( sharp + clear just like now )

Posted by: ducvader

4x6 is ok but then again I am a very picky person. Showed the pictures to my parents and they thought it was very clear. Personally I think wallet size pictures are the best for a camera phone like this. OT here....I like the mp3 player on this thing its a cool feature...too bad you can't use MP3s as ringtones but oh well.......maybe this will be implemented into the next model 6 to 7 months down the road. I'm happy with it and I'm glad I went from a GX22 to a GX32!

Posted by: Koofteh

Yeah, the MP3 is a very neat feature. You don't have a lot of non-Smartphone devices that play MP3s like this. I like how you can close it and use the external screen. The MP3 player has to be one of the most well-implemented things on the GX32.

If you guys show interest, I'd be willing to make an online petition for us to send to Sharp. We could compile a list of improvements, big and small, and hope Sharp will take note. The phone has everything in terms of hardware, they just need to enable it with the software.

If you are talking about the GX20 quality, I haven't tried it but I think it might look as sharp and clear maybe cuz I tried enlarging the pics on my pc and it does look the same...but don't take me word on that cuz I only tried it on my pc and haven't printed them out yet.

Posted by: offline5555

lol sorry.. i just wanted to make sure man..
ur talkin abt 4X6 with gx 22 right?

i thought 20/22 have the same quality in terms of camera?
Well.. logically, it SHOULD be fine, as 6X4 is actually smaller than 640 X 480... do you mean you enlarged the ones you posted previously? If you didnt, maybe i could just send it to london drugs to print it as 4X6 myself and give it a try....

Posted by: miffybb

is it possible that the sharp phones can take pictures in total darkness?
and is there a way to change the colour of the flash? if anybody knows, pls inform me.. thanks very much =)

Well, eventhough the Sharp GX series didn't have night mode but the flash light is very useful indeed (very bright)

This is the pic taken with my GX30 in my room (pitch black) using flash. Anyway, don't blame me about how messy my room is. That's taken after party time though.

ps. You can set the colour of flash light by going to option and light colour during camera mode. Cheers.

Posted by: Koofteh

Yes, you can change the colour of the flash, although it's useless unless you want to have a funky tint on your images.

You can also edit the pictures you take, a feature which I haven't seen on any other phones. You can add borders and filters and such to them.

You can try it, those pictures that I posted up are in 640x480 but they looks small on my computer(guess its my camera resolution).

Posted by: Koofteh

Here's one I took in macro mode. I don't really quite understand what macro mode does, but whatever. This is with natural lighting in macro mode.

PS: If you'd rather I posted a link instead of the whole picture, please tell me.

Posted by: .FLiP.MATiC.

Macromode gets the really small details when taking pictures up close.
A good example is taking a picture of a coin close up I guess.

Posted by: Phoenix81

Hope this will help.
Left portrait, Right macro

Perfect example

Posted by: Koofteh

Hmm, I understand the difference... I just don't see what physically changes with the camera.

Veggies (and cheese) anyone?

Hi, regarding the petition thing.
How is the mp3 player so great if it doesn't (at least on gx30) feature to play one track after the other or random. It just plays the same tune over and over. You have to open phone up and select another tune (unless I'm missing something).
- Also 400k limit on vids (i got 512SD and cant see use for it).
- 59 second max on alarm sounds.
- 50k limit on midi
- no way of installing apps/games apart from wap.
- nobbled bluetooth - no pc/phone support.
- infrared - no phone to phone.
ah well that'll do for now haha...

Posted by: Koofteh

I always thought the MP3 player was just a novelty feature, they don't even include proper headsets. Oh well, something we could include in a petition if it ever happens.

Posted by: Phoenix81

elmes100:

About MP3 player, if you set to repeat OFF, it will play the following track though. My technique to listen to the song randomly is to set the sort type to random so the song in your list will random as you want.

I'm totally agree about restriction. I do hope in petition too. It's gonna be such a perfect phone if we can remove all of restriction from this phone.

Btw, I'm using the e616/808 stereo headset and the sound quality is quite good. Anyway, do you guys know whether there're any of these accessory sold in Vodafone shop? http://213.249.206.60/europe/uk/acc...ies.asp?id=gx30

Posted by: Jabbypants

seeing the quality of those pics on the gx30 is a real eye opener. One question though how good quality is the screen, i have a v600 previously and that was good just wondering how this phone compares

Posted by: Phoenix81

GX30 has 2.2" QVGA (240x320 pixels) CGS screen with 256k colours. It's much better than V600 screen actually.

Posted by: Jabbypants

any idea where i can see a review of this showing the menu screens etc ?, ive seen a few but none showing this. I was thinking of getting nokia 6230 but this phone gona be my choice i think

Posted by: Jabbypants

i been reading alot of reports that the gx30 takes very slow pictures and makes it hard to get good pics. just wondering if this is true, and is the vodafone network good i live in a small village and o2 and orange are great reception, the talk time and standbye time change lots too 1 site said 5 hours standby time :/ can't be right

Anyone got anymore pics taken on gx 30 and a good place to see good quality pics of the phone with shots of menu's if poss

I hear that the GX30's camera's refresh rate still hasn't changed from the GX2x meaning that the refresh rate is still slow(meaning the screen skips as you move the phone around). If this is true, then you will have to hold the camera very very still to get the best shot.

Posted by: Jabbypants

anyone know a good site to buy one off, found a few and the monthly cost wasn't very good for what u get, 200 mins and 100 texts, Ģ34. When u look on o2 or orange deals u find there phones have like 200 mins and 500 texts and 125 media messaging

If you look closely enough at the camera when sliding the macro switch u can see it rotate a little...therefore changing the focus.

how is this compared to an inno!?

=[
i fuc**** regret in getting an inno...

Posted by: ryefong

Hi guys! I also just recently bought a sharp gx-32. However, I've been having problems with taking pictures. I can't get the settings right and have a really hard time getting pictures as great as the ones all of you have posted.

Any setting(s) suggestions/ shooting tips for taking pictures with the gx-32/30 e.g. night time/day time? I can't get it right!!! thanks guys!
