Hi all,

I was playing around with CB2000 and accidentally hit the "Blank Media" button. Upon going back into my phone I’ve lost all my ringtones and pics etc.

Now my problem is I had a load of pics already on the phone (pre installed, my phone was bought sim free, totally unlocked and no network brandings etc), most noticeably of some very tasty Asian ladies. Now is there any way I can get them back.

If those were in the Data folder then... no you can't get the back. CB2000 erases EVERYTHING that exists in the Data folder... but not in the phone's Fixed Data... You can't get them back (darn)

Yeah I think they were in the 1st folder. Thing is they were all pre loaded on a totally new phone. They were all barred so I could'nt send (IR or bluetooth) them, or save to my PC using the cable. They must be hard coded somewhere, its just getting em back.

If you couldn't send them that means they were barred (locked). That has nothing to do with your mobile. And the fact that they were pre-installed sais nothing since they were in the Pictures Folder. Just because they were barred doesn't mean they can't get deleted... Its like your pc... there are some system files you can't delete by yourself... but if you format... they're gone! That's what blank media is... a data format

hmm so how do u delete the "barred" pics? i want to dump some of the mmf ringtones and stupid koala pics on my phone :P

Barred pics are usually something you download from Wap. When you download it the webmaster of that Wap page does not want you to send it to others (so that they visit his site too). You can't edit them and you can't send them in any way. Those files are stored in your Data folder and when you download them you can delete them like you do with other files.

Now the pictures inside the fixed folder and the ringtones your mobile has inside you can't delete. Those are REALLY locked so you can only view. Those don't take extra space in your memory because they're already inside your mobile in other memory slots you can't access... In conclusion...

Everything inside the data folder can be deleted... the rest you cannot touch

Hi FrozenIcE, I know what your saying. But my point is, the pics were put on in the factory, so I'm assuming there part of the firmware, LP or prob a custom pack. So there must (i hope) be some way of unlocking them, or reinstalling them from a custom pack or something.

ArcAngel... no See... the firmware is something that contains your mobile's menu, sounds, animations games e.t.c... Now the Data Folder is actually memory slots on your mobile waitting for you to put data inside. I'll come back to the computer example..

Ok so when you buy your pc it has windows... office and games on it... but if you format (Blank Media) everything is gone! You have to reinstall it again!

It's the same thing here. When you "Blank Media"-ed everything got lost. Yes the company you bought the mobile added those pictures as a bonus to the mobile. So does a computer seller with windows and office! If you delete it though there's no way to bring it back.

My point... The pictures are in NO WAY included in the firmware. The firmware cannot contain extra pictures even if it is edited. Ok? If you really want those pics just go to the company and tell them to upload them for you again

If you still don't believe me there's a button for "RESET" in your mobile. It's called "Reset Defaults" or Defaults or something. That resets your settings... that won't do anything though... try it. And if you STILL don't believe me ask the company you bought it from... Sorry man... there's no way to get them back so:

But it is only Panasonic that seem to fo this "barring" my SE phones don't. Its annoying cos there are wap sites that have free pics to download for mms, but with the pana anything you download is barred.
