HELP!!! Witholding caller ID on G51

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi all,

Just got my phone today. In the manual it says if you want to prevent from showing your name and phone number you can choose CALL SERVICE then WITHOLD ID. But I tried a couple of times and it keeps giving me a message "My Number Not Witheld"

I have no idea what's going on. Anyway, I have T-mobile and don't think that should make any difference. I've been using my Motorola V70 in the past 2 years w/o this problem at all.

TIA

Dom

Like I mentioned, there is no such option....
But here's the response I got from Panasonic.....

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Panasonic EB-G51U GSM cellular phone. To withhold your caller ID information from being received by the party that you are calling you will need to contact your wireless service provider and have them provide you with a code that you will have to manually dial each time that you wish to block your caller ID information, just as you would do if calling from a land-line telephone.

The “Withhold ID” feature of the phone will only work if the codes that are pre-programmed into the phone are supported by your wireless service provider. Since, each telephone service provider in the USA, uses different codes for withholding the caller ID information, the codes that are programmed into the phone may or may not work with T-Mobile’s network for withholding your caller ID information.

Respectfully,

Panasonic Cellular Support

***so pretty much I have to use *67 before I make any calls to block my id.
