Data cable HELP!!!

Please can somebody help?
Where can I buy a data cable that will allow me to upgrade firm ware and unlock my x70.
I have seen lots on ebay but unsure if they are ok.
I also would like to know how I can use an O2 sim in my old Orange x70. Seems that it is a taboo subject.
If you can help or point me to an appropriate thread I will be a happy man for the rest of the week!!!
