If I buy the data cable can I definitely add ringtones and wallpapers to my phone?

I am using a MetroPCS slider. I am thinking about buying this $50 data cable thing but will that really guarantee that I'll be able to add all this free crap to my phone?

yes.

Two more questions..

Do I have to order them through Kyocera or could there possibly be any local stores that might have the data cable for the slider?

Should I buy a data kit that comes with the cable and Kyocera Phone Desktop Software? Or is the cable the only thing I really need?

The software that is a few dollars more is worth it. You can currently only buy it directly from kyocera.

look here for cable/software

The Desktop software can NOT copy wallpapers or polyphonic(midi) ringers!

It can only copy contacts and proprietary .kws ringers. It can't even keep track of personalized ringers or ringer ids!

If you are trying to copy midis, mp3s, jpgs, bmps, etc, don't waste your money, you will be very disappointed in this software.

What would be a good solution, then? Can Datapilot do all that fancy stuff?

you dont use the KW software you use download gagin or bitpim to send ringtones but on some computers you need the kw software for drivers for the cable it work but its not a waste of money

when you buy the data cable alone it is sent with a driver cd. i get mine in tomorrow and can detail on what exactly comes with it.
