Hey there guys and gals-I'm a rookie here with an issue that I hope somebody can help with. For some damned reason my phone just chips and girbles away randomly for nooo reason...no text, no pic, no missed call etc. I have turned all notification ding-dongs off, still the cursed tinkle-tinkle-tinkle scrapes my ears...HELP...I have taken one phone back to the dealer I purchased all three phones (same model, activated together) from. My new one did the same thing 45 minutes after I left his shop...WTF??? I searched the forums and it seems that a few others have had this problem, but no solutions/theories other than turning off alerts were posted. I will be calling Audiovox on Monday; I have a feeling I will be bullsh**ted. Some insanely intelligent person PLEEEAZE solve my problem-at least the one that pertains to my Audiovox 8900 on Verizon in the U.S.

umm take it back to verizon and go off on them. that will usually do the trick.

Are you losing your signal?

The phone usually chirps when you enter a no signal area.

You can test this by entering the NAM settings, when pulls your phone off line - this will force the phone to make the noise...see if it is the same thing you hear it intermittently doing.

Alright: I called Verizon and got the usual runaround. I called Audiovox, and the lady there had me do what I thought was a bunch of useless dumb sh*t: She had me erase EVERYTHING from the phone: texts, memos, alarms (I had none of these except one text...). She then had me do a reset on the phone. When the phone started up w/ that oh-so-catchy Verizon tune, the ding-a-ling-ling sound did not happen. It has not happened since Monday ~9am PST. SO all seems to be well. In response to a few q's, no I had full coverage, the phone was sitting on my kitchen counter when it was doing it.

I had the same problem, ended up being the Fade tone was on. I have full signal in my house, but for some reason it intermittenly blanks out while not in use and my phone would do that little jingle sound on my phone and my wife's phone.
