1. i use usb data cable (ucx70), port 4, setting baud rate 57600
2. i flash a28 with langpack 68, not 66
3. my phone keep blinking for more than 1.5 hour
4. i reduce setting to 19200, and firmware was succesfully updated. but when flashing langpack, suddenly my x70 dead (maybe because of battery empty .. blinking more than 1.5 hours)
5. now i can not ON my phone, i can not reflash with winmodo (because no response when i press ON button), i can not open it using CB2000

any idea? no panasonic service center in my city. please, i need yr help.

Hi!
I don't think I'll be able to helpl, as I have not much flashing experience, (there's a joke there somewhere), but I'm guessing the guys in the know here will need a little more info from you, so here we go..

1. Obviouse question, are you tring to power the phone up with a battery that has some charge in it?

2. does the red light come on when you go to charge the phone?

3. On the flash attempt that went wrong, did winmodo say "finished", do you have what it did say?

Also, I assume you could send it via registerd post to a panasonic center, (does it still have the warrenty??).

Hopefully some guys "in the know" will help ya out!

Good luck, Rich

tks for yr reply, rich ...
1. I was flashing my x70 from A17 to A28, and langpack was 68 (maybe 68 was not correct for A28??), and i charged my battery about 4 hours before flashing. I use the handphone for about 10 hours (only standby, not for talking/send sms), then i see the battery indicator still show 3 bar .. then i flashed my x70 without charge in usb cable
2. now, when i charge my battery, the red light (under the camera lens) comes
3. when flashing the firmware a28, yes .. it said finished and continue to flash the langpack ... then it's quiet before finish flashing langpack
4. i try and try to reflash with winmodo, i press the ON button more than 10 times ... then i get this msg:

signaling .....
signaling received.....
parameters exchange...
error <F1> ???
aborted

do you know what wrong with this? or .. mr. slunt and mr. lost_rebel know how to solve this problem ..... help me pls. it's 2 days i couldn't use my x70.

Ok, "Boot Download" & "Smart Boot Update" (see attach) before download Firmware?

Posted by: Pilchard

What exactly do those two options do RedDiablo?

Thanks

Update Boot-sector, which is same as BIOS for PC. If Version BOOT-sector differs that new version FirmWare suggests, - loading can begin with failure...

Sounds as if the LP Data sector is corrupeted (due to the battery being low) Happened to my phone. That's the message i got in Winmodo and ABD error on the phone LCD.

There's no way of fixing it (not as far as i know)

I sent my phone for repair and they gave me a different one.

Lesson to be learned:

Always Charge your battery 100% this means no phone calling, sms, games, wap useage b4 flashing.

EEK!

I guess your best bet is to send to a panasonic repair place.

The Thailand site for panasonic is here...
http://www.panasonic-th.com/
There should be some contact details for it there.

Also Slick/Red, is it ok to Flash the x70 (I'm mainly taing about the customisation pack, not firmware or language), to not have the sim card in the phone, so no calls, texts etc can be recieved during the flash???

Thanks, Rich

I am going to update custom pack only, is it advisable to enable/disable either of those for this??

Thanks once again!

ummmm ..... i think u r right ....
I got no ABD errroe on LCD, but that's true .... when flasing the LP, suddenly it stopped.
So, for anyone who will try to flash new firmware ... remember that lesson ....100% fully battery charged.

uhg ..... then i'l try to contact pana sc in thai .....tks anyway.

Only for download custom Pack or (and) LP, this options must be "disable"
