I've been searching for animated gifs for a while to put on my phone, but I just discovered that my phone won't play more than 3 frames of the gif file. But on my old phone I thought i had one that played about 4 or 5, im not sure though.
When the animated picture is in the inbox the file plays the whole clip, but anywhere else it cuts off after the 3rd clip. So I've been editing my gifs to three frames.
Has anyone gotten their animated gifs to play more than 3 frames? Does anyone know the size limit to the gif's....the highest i got mine was 82kb.
Also has anyone noticed that when you have the phone connected to a charging cable the animated gifs run at lighting speed.

I read your post and decided to try this out.
The attached anim is 10 frames long, looping forever.
Just like you said, when you view it from your "Media Gellary," it only plays the first 3 frames of this animation. But when you view it in the received email, it plays and repeats just fine.
WTF?!
I'm calling Verizon today to see what they tell me...

The first person I talked to had to ask their "Technical Supervisor" or whatever...
Then they transferred me to a "tech" person, who said, "It may be a limitation of the phone or a software problem." The only documentation he had was for the resolution of the pics, so I'm guessing it was not heard of.
Then he said we should contact AudioVox's Tech Support [phone number: (800) 229-1235] and he started a conference call with them while I was on the line.
The AudioVox Techie said (thru a thick New York accent) that she'd never heard of this issue, and that it's most likely a memory problem on the phone itself.
After she said (with confidence) that she'd NEVER heard of this problem, she said I could send in my phone and they would look at it. I told her that it wasn't just MY phone that was doing it, because I was reading about it on a forum. She said, "What forums?" -- I told her HowardForums.com, and she said she knows about these forums.
After she (somewhat) answered my question, the guy from Verizon was still on the phone and suggested I email AudioVox's Product dept. directly.
I guess that's "Customer Service"...

you mean "customer dis-service"?
P.S. - the animated gif problem happens to me as well.
