Hey so you CAN IN FACT (YES) transfer your pics from your phone to your pc via the data cable?

I didnt get the accesory package so I dont have the cable. If I buy the cable should I buy the software that comes with it or can I do without?

yea you can but using bitpim is soo risky, be carefull...i already ruined one phone.... and no you dont need to buy the software you can download it from a website.... theres links around somewheres

bitpm isn't all that user friendly and you have the possibility of ruining your phone if you don't know what you're doing. But it's very useful and you can easily transfer pictures, ringtones or whatever to your computer with it - just read up here on it before you do so.

Is there a safe way or, did audiovox or verizon make some software that allows me to transfer ring tones and pics from and to my computer? Did they design software that works safely to transfer pictures n stuff? Or is it all freeware type (hack)?

If all you want to do is download pics from the phone, Bitpim seems perfectly safe. This doesn't require you to alter anything in the filesystem. You just find the file on the phone, right-click and save it to your computer. To upload files is a bit more convoluted and is described elsewhere in these forums, and you just need to make sure you're using the right method for your service provider.
