ibook, slider cable, bitpim HELP !

Hi everyone. well i went ahead and bought the data cable because it said it works with mac osx and so does Bitpim. Well it doesnt work and I dont know why. Bitpim says I have no com port...What does that mean ?!? Anyone on a mac that got bitpim to work ? well any help would be great. Thanks a bunch

I also have a iBook, and a LG VX 6000
I'm using the BitPim version 7 test 6 (7 & 8 tend to not work right now, I don't know why but up to six does) also they are tests which means they may quit themselves. You should put the com port on Auto, that is what I have it on. I put the phone on USB port settings Menu-9-6-2
you can try changing the speed, don't know.
I never got 0.6.2 to work, I would recommend going to 0.7 if you haven't already, and also when you pick the settings select your phone (of course
