GD88 data cable HELP!

for monthes i have used my data cable and no trouble has come along til now...
i got an inno90 and want to take some stuff from the gd88 to tranfers but the software 'edit tool software' keeps saying 'invalid port number'
what does this mean and how can i fix this..
