Text Messaging Please Help

Hi, I am new to the board I have read all of the post and I am still having some trouble. I have Kyocera Slider (VM unlocked to Verizon.) I am unable to receive any text messaging, also my voicemail icon does not show up. I don't really care about the voicemail icon so much as the text messaging. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be?

Verizon says everything is ok on their end so I figure there must have incorrect codes in my phone. A friend has the same phone and under the message setting their phone says:
MSG ID=80, Class=0, Cause 32768

Mine says
MSG ID=7
Class=2
Cause=32773

I am sorry if this is a redundant question but if someone could help I would really appreciate it.

i think all this means is how many messages you have sent, and how manny have had errors...not positive though, but just in case mines

Msg id = 0
L3 Error Class = 0
L3 Cause = 0

I think this because i have yet to send a message and my values are all 0

O ok, I have been looking everywhere trying to figure out why I am not receiving text messages. I thought that might be why.

ok, yea...i just sent a message to test it

Msg ID = the number of messages you've sent
below is the date of the last message
l3 error = errors
l3 cause = i dont kno

so that's not your problem...you may have to bring it up to your provider

The provider has been no help at all, but thanks anyway. I don't know what the problem could be. But thanks for testing your phone and helping out.

only thing i can think of is, make sure your settings are hte same as mine...do 11-1111 then OK, then go into programming, security code 000000 , then sms settings....make sure that:

Allow transport = traffic only
msg encoding = 7 bit ASCII
IS-41 wk around = IS-41
service option = 6

i really don't know what difference any of these make to be honest, but my sms works for me and those are the settings on my phone....if yours are any different try changing them to mine

lemme kno if this makes a difference

go to the dealer and see if they can swap phones for you, if you've had it for less than like 30 days they should be able to
