Hey all. I just bought this phone yesterday and I'm still trying to learn a few things about it. First of all, my family hadn't upgraded their phone since the SprintPCS default phone (lol) so I was really excited to get the best phone they were offering (the Toshiba one sucked IMO). Anyways, I have a basic understanding of the concepts behind the features, just need some technical info.

So here goes:
I've setup my contacts, figured out the camera features, and voice dials, I had some questions regarding the internet features, PCS-Vision, hidden costs, and ringers:

1) I know that Sprint charges you for everything you download from PCS site, but I have this 2-month free trial so what exactly is included in the 'Picture Pack'?

2) I have only demos of games, is there anyway I can get free games?

3) I've heard of 3gforfree.com or something and I'm going to make an account, but is that the best way to get loads of free stuff for the phone?

4) How exactly do I transfer apps or ringers to my phone without internet (PC Sync?)

5) If I get a ringer file from a 3rd party or use one of those conversion programs, how can I send them and apply them on my phone?

6) What costs money for everytime use except Voice Command and GPS (I have this on by default am I being charged?).

Thanks guys, I know it's kind've n00b but I need to start somewhere.

Welcome. Try the search button and answer most of your questions for yourself. If you can't find an answer (everything that you've mentioned has been covered numerous times), then feel free to ask.

1) Unlimited sending of pictures and uploading pictures to sprintpcs.com.

2) 3gupload.com is free and has some games. You also have $5 a month to download anything from Sprint's WAP page.

3) I'd recommend 3gupload.com. The best one I've found.

4) To transfer ringers/screensavers buy a data cable (radio shack, $23), and SnapMedia ($30).

5) When using 3gupload.com, go to 3gupload.com/wap on your phone to download them

6) Location (GPS) is free. Dunno about Voice Command.

If you are dialing * to use voice command then there is a charge after like a 2 month trial i believe. However your phone has this built in under Voice Services which is completely free to use. Why pay for something when your phone can do it for you for free?

Built in voice storage is limited; Voice Command offers thousands of contacts.

I would do a Google search for free ringtones or something like that....there are a lot out there. As they said before, 3gupload is nice but I don't like their picture quality or games (a lot of Beta versions). I did get some nice stuff there, though. I go to planetringtone.net for my pictures.
