Yes I'm thinking of getting a 6600 so this is great but where is the best source for getting the software?

Posted by: distorted

the pay sites are www.my-sybian.com and places like that
i offer stuff also (note sig)

Posted by: The Nokian

Okay, I figured I'd add a couple:

-FileMan:
EXCELLENT File Manager for S60, offers more functions than other programs, and is easier to use with a better interface.

-AppMan:
An Application manager for S60. This one is handy it shows all the open apps, how much memory is being taken up, etc. But the highlight feature is that it allows you to pin ANYTHING to your GoTo menu [Including Bluetooth, IR, Profiles, Themes, RealOne, ANY program you have installed].

FaceWave
FaceWave by Anthropics has proven to be a very cool application for MMS users. I tried the demo on Handango's website and immediately fell in love with it!! The app is available for both Series 60 and UIQ platforms and has additional faces that can be ordered. The first thing that I liked was the price (gotta remain thrifty!) One thing to keep in mind is that in order to send the message the recipient must have a compatible phone. Luckily, most of my peeps just got finished grabbing up Nokia 6600's from T-Mobile once it was released here in the US.
Once installed the app is very easy to use. It creates a spot right in your new message menu and from there you can select which character you would like to use, add your voice message and viola!! Once you preview your message, hit send and your done! One of the things that I look for when I'm interested in apps is customer support. Anthropics customer service gets 5 stars from me

I installed System tools last night... it's an awesome software for 3660. Through this i can explore every directory of my phone and best feature being that i can " Send Nokia Original midi files to others" Also i can now change the alaram sound of the phone which wasn't possible before.

Posted by: chunky

Installed Bumused . Cool software... u can control your WINAMP from your mobile... provided you have a bluetooth connection.

yes , why not ? ..... 3660 is a s60 phone too

Posted by: irfan6220

i thought the 3650 was a s40 for some reason, anywayz good to be sure.

Posted by: BoOMOnE

i have a question i have some .jad and .jar game files. can i upload them via bluetooth on to the 7610 or can i only do this via wap? i need some games to entertain me, namely the bowling game. if so which do i upload first the .jad or the .jar file?

Posted by: Cirtess

BT will work just fine...If it works like my 3650 and I guess it would cuz they are both series 60 send yourself the jar file...it should automatically go to the installer when you open the message.

Posted by: Magellan

I have a dumb question. How do I lock the keys on the 3650? I poked around but couldn't find it.

Posted by: BoOMOnE

i had a hard time finding out how to do that with my 7610 too. but try the left soft key then star key.

Posted by: Magellan

Yeah thats it, thanks!!

Hi,

I have two question on my phone 6600

1. Cannot use OPM
I am using my 6600 which connect to my laptop via the built in infra-red port. I am able to install and do necessary backup via the Nokia PC Suit.

However, I am not able to use the Oxygen Phone Manager 2 for Symbian phone. The OPM did not detect the phone. The Nokia Connection Manager has detected the phone but the OPM did not.
Why?

Do the OPM require the 6600 to have a firmware 4.XX or higher. I think mine is 3.XX only.

2. Psiloc Task Manager
I have installed this software successfully and it tell me that the software can be started by pressing on application.

What is that? I am not able to see the installed software on my phone? Please help if anybody have installed this software before.

Thanks

we developed the "Heli Attack 2" game for series 60,
the official site is www.maratron.ch

(sorry, got no money to do proper marketing for this game, but hey, go and buy it and for the next game we will have marketing!!)

They need to come out with a decent gps (US version)app for 3650

i can answer your second question
first go to the menu, and there should be a folder called "apps" and it should have some colorful blocks as it's icon. select it and open it. after that there should be a list of applications you installed. if it's not in that list, i dont' know where it is, but that' smy best guess considering i only have a 3660

Since there is currently no mod for this area, would anyone object to this thread being renamed to "Symbian App Review Thread"?

The 3650 is has long been the "hot" phone.

I think of it more of a list than a review. Possibly "Symbian Applications List/Reviews"

Games:

Explode Arena - bomber man ripoff, only much better. You have truckload of maps, including environmental backgrouds. There are also various effects including lighting, advanced particle system (e.g. smoke). The game also has multiplayer support via bluetooth. Enemy AI is fairly impressive. Graphics is top-notch.
Rating - *****

Sky Force - another impressive game from the creator of Explode Arena. It's a shoot-em-up fighter aircraft game, similar to those games that came up during the Sega Genesis days. Graphics is impressive, which include 3d objects (this one blew me away, especially the rendering of mountains), smoke and rain effects, etc. There are various levels of difficulty. The easy mode would let you finish only the first 3 levels (Logical choice, isn't it? The easy mode won't show you all the levels so that you will be forced to play the more difficult modes).
Rating - *****

Mosquitos - A camera game where you have to kill animated mosquitoes. It's a good game to impress your friends with, other than that, it becomes a boring waaay too early.
Rating - ***

Prince of Persia
Good graphics, lousy enemy AI. Fairly easy to finish.
Rating - *** 1/2

Dope Wars - It's mostly a word game (not really that much of a graphics game) where you act as a dope seller. The objective is, to raise as much money within 30 days. There are various factors that you have to consider when selling your drugs, including the demand in the area that you're going to. Things such as drug raid will raise the price of the drug so you have to watch out for that. You also have to consider the dangers such as the police, rival gangs, etc. You have to raise a certain money within a specified date so that you can pay the loan shark.
Rating - ****

Saga of Stone - A 2d adventure game similar to the Sonic-the-Hegdehog fashion with bright cartoonish graphics and all. Controls can be quite difficullt. (at least in my case).
Rating - ****

Snake 3D - Forget this game
Rating - **

Camera Applications:
Photoacute. - The famous killer camera app for the series 60. Interpolates up to 8 consecutively taken shots to achieve a 1280 by 960 resolution (which is fairly impressive). The program works best on a still background. Another feature of the program is the apparent ability to reduce flickering pixels in night mode due to interpolation.
Rating - ****

Photographer - A camera app with various features such as image quality adjustment, masks, and up to 2500% digital zoom.
Rating - *** 1/2

Flexicam - Another camera app with a more flexible zoom. The downside is, zoomed images are not saved to 640 by 480 pixels.
Rating - *** 1/2

Philips Cam Corder Pro - the video recorder that allows you to record video (3gp) at the maximum length of time the memory will allow. Has two resolution settings with up to 15 fps in low resolution and 7.5 fps in the high reolution. I still think the video quality of the default recorder looks better though.
Rating - ****

Other apps

Ultra MP3 - it plays MP3. It has a good skin.
Rating - *** 1/2

ovcontroller.sis - the most important file that you have to install in your phone if you are a music lover. This file lets your phone recognize ogg vorbiz format (a file type similar to mp3) and assign them as ring tone. There's a bug though. If you set your phone to vibra mode and you're using a ogg ring tone, the phone won't vibrate when it receives a call. Still, this program is enough reason why you should dump Ultra MP3.
Rating - *****

Fullscreen Caller - Fullscreen photo caller ID. Somtimes, it causes some ring tones (anyone, please confirm it it's ogg) to stop when it's being activated. It's only for phone calls. How I wish there's an SMS photo ID.
Rating - ***

Slovoed Dictionary - my most important program yet. 150,000 entries on the English language. Finally, you won't be needing those pocket electronic dictionaries. Interface is very friendly. You need to have around 10 mb free mmc space. There are also versions for other languages (e.g., English-Italian, English-Spanish), etc.
Rating - *****

Total IR Remote - a program that let's your phone act as a remote controll to a a truckload of electronic devices (e.g., TV, DVD player, etc.). The list of supported devices is huge. Range isn't that good though. But I really need it since some of my remote control devices are busted already.
Rating - ****

MP3Player v2.10 is the best(IMO) 'coz it has an EQUALIZER, preamp and bt headset while the prev. version doesn't have. LOUDER sounds too.

also smaller file size than UltraMp3.

Get ETI camcoder Pro. I think there is a 6600 specific version.

Posted by: johnmed3

Or buy the Philips camcorder pro for N6600. Much better than ETI IMHO. You can get it at My Symbian

No it's not most hosts and ISP strictly prohibit it. Also read the forum rules and the sticky in this forum for the rules about it on this forum.

Ive tried it with nokia suite but i doesnnt work because it only works with cable bluetooth or infrared. can someone help me please???

Posted by: phaTman

Is it me or is Gameloft halting support for the 3660? I've been anticipating Might and Magic to be released for the Nokia 3660 but only the 3650 got the game.

And I just bought my 3660 too! :_(

Are emulators for the 7610 legal?

Posted by: jagdesh

hi guys i dont know if this is the rite topic to post under ...but here goes...

Well i have nokia 7610 firmware version 4.0421.4,
22-05-04, RH-51...
Well my problem is i installed the app full screen caller and it worked in the start with some contatcts... but only for one contact it use to make problem, what was that when this contact use to call me first of all the number of some other contact use to show on screen and also with someother contacts photo too .. well i tried everything ...removing that contact and addin it fresh but the same results ... then after tat it then suddenly gave me a app error .... and closed by itself... well after that i try to open it and it did not open not even to the activate and deactivate screen... so i had to unistall it ..

after that i installed it again still the same problem it does not open at all i have tired version's 2.03, 2.04, 2.06 and 2.07 of full screen caller .. well i install then it all goes fine till then .... after that when i try to click on it and go to it it does not open at all and no error even shows up.,,..,

Finally i thought of formatting my 7610 so i did by the code ...i think its switch off ur phone and then press and hold green dial key and press the *key and also press the no.3 key and hold them all three and switch on ur mobile and u will be taken to the formating screen.. i did that and then after that i installed the full screen caller again and still the same problem...

Well i just want it to start i dont mind if one contact it messed up.. i think it might have made and entry to the registery of the mobile and i need to erase that in order for it to be completely removed...but full formatting should have done it right??? should i flash??? what should i do???

Posted by: Trekker

When I first got a 6600 (my first s60 device), I was very confused about all the different application available, what they did, which ones were worth getting and which ones should be avoided.

I am making this thread (hopefully a sticky ) to help the other new s60 users.

I did not find all these, many have been posted before on this forum by different users. I have just put all of them together.

I am not posting links to the websites, as that would have been too difficult for me to find the webpage for each app. Almost all can be found easily by doing a simple google search with their name.

Camera

* CameraFX: Edit the shot real-time, also has a digital zoom feature, B&W, effects and has some masks. Drawback is you cant save it automatically to your MMC.

* FlexiCam: Trimmed down camera app that has digital zoom and lets you specify the quality in a more detailed way. Faster and much smaller than CameraFX or Photographer.

* Photographer: Heavily loaded camera app that has effects, masks, digital zoom and others. Takes nicer pictures than the built-in camera, zoom is decent quality as well. But it takes longer to save the picture than on the built-in app.

* PhotoAcute: Take GREAT pics at 1280x960 resolution

* Photofusion: A good camera ap with zoom. Also lets u take a Panoramic Picture.

Video Recording

* ETI Camcorder: Record for as long as your memory can handle. Drawback is that the file is in the format .eye

* Phillips Camcorder Pro: Record video as long as your memory can handle.

Audio Recorder

* Psiloc Extended Recorder (eRecorder): Record sound as long as your memory can handle.

Players

* PVPlayer (Packet Video): Full screen movie player.

* SmartMovies: Play AVI files in ur mobile full screen, with the option to forward/rewind/pause etc etc. U can convert almost any video format to be playable in ur mobile. A must have application.

Ebook Readers

* Mobi Reader: It's an ebook reader and is super cool too. It scrolls automatically, and you can even change the orientation (landscape or portrait), excellent book reader, can't beleive I read books with my phone.

* Quickword: View MS Word documents, complete with most original formatting including color, varying font sizes, bolding, & italics. Works well.

* ReadM: Better for viewing text files than the built-in Notes program.

* sViewer: Lets u read txt files. Better than the builtin viewer.

Photo Caller ID

* FullScreen Caller: Full screen picture Caller-ID.

* PhotoID: Another Symbian application that allows you to attach full-size images to people in your contacts list and display them when an incoming call is received.

Date & Time

* Handy Clock: Shows time and date in your home city and in two other cities of the world. You can choose these cities from the list in the built in Handy Clock program, or add the new ones. In addition, it allows you to set several different alarms on your clock with different repeating type.

* Handy Dates: Linked with the built-in calendar on the phone and lets you keep track of birthdays, anniversaries, meetings, and you can set it to sound alarms a few days or few hours before. very cool and useful. lets you put in the year of birth too so you know how old the person is/will be. I like it.

* WorldClock Pro: Clock app that tells you the time on another city. The alarm feature is also notable on this app.

Minute Managers

* Dashfly Minutes: It asks you when your billing period ends and begins, how many anytime minutes you have, when your nights start, whether you have unlimited weekend minutes, and it refreshes itself automatically. There are a couple issues I'm hoping they will resolve in the next release: separating the detailed log into call/message types; separating night minutes from weekend minutes.

* Moov Minutes Manager: I adore the always visible notation re number of peak numbers left for the current billing cycle. While it's fantastic for giving you summaries of assorted categories, it offers zippo regarding details (who called when, etc). Fortunately, it plays quite nicely with DashFly Minutes, which offers just about every sort of detail you could ever want, but in an easy-to-digest format.

App/Task Managers

* AppMan: Monitors installed programs and provides lots of info about files and processes running on your phone. works in tandem with Stacker. has an option to release unused memory but a soft restart would be better. a so-so app.

* Smart Launcher: System menu replacement that also includes a task manager. You can have custom desktops from the menu and some other things. It runs at startup, and there are skins for it, you can also download a skin editor and create your own. It reports on memory and storage and battery use. I tried it for about a day, it slowed down access to the menu, you'd get a 1-2 second hesitation as it loaded the wallpaper. That alone was enough for me not to use it. The backgrounds under the icons also turned out to be annoying, difficult to read and looked crappy. Lets you design your own theme complete with background image, icons, and colors. Not that appealing to me because it only changes the menu page and not the entire phone theme. I give this software 2/5 stars.

* Switcher: Very nice freeware if you don't wanna buy Appman. Appman provides a bit more info but Swithcer reports memory which is the main benefit to both apps.

* Taskmanager: Pretty simple app, that lets you assigne shortcuts to the dialpad, and shows you running apps and memory use. It also let's you compress memory. I am still using it. It's main downside is that it doesn't always launch the dpad application. Nine times out of 10, when I press down, SeleQ comes up, but sometimes it doesn't. Not annoying enough to dump the software, but annoying never the less. 3/5 stars.

*sLauncher: keeps track of memory and ram as well as battery.

File Managers

* FExplorer: Freeware and not only can you manipulate files, but it's got some cool added features that displace other utilities I've seen, such as setting the operator logo, providing phone and provider/cell info, taking screencaps, or setting the backlight permanently on or off.

* SeleQ: Great but not free.

Memory Managers

* DevMan: Memory/Process tool, the best thing about this little gem is I can do a soft-boot of the phone. Beyond killing programs and process threads, and compacting unused memory heaps, this is a must have.

* Space Doubler: It compresses really well. I didn't think it would really make nuch of a difference but when you see the chart of space saved it makes you think wow I am glad I got this. It does slow down your app load time.

* Stacker: If you're running out of space, stacker is for you. Compresses installed apps and games. This app won a nokia award, nice utility. Stacker is more stable than Spacedoubler, gives you the performance and compression ratio of smart compress but with the autonomy of Space doubler. It may be a bit slower than Space doubler but it more than makes up for it in compression and stability.

* Psiloc SystemTools: Most notable feature is its 'flight mode'. this enables you to use your phone even without a sim card installed. most useful for playing memory intensive games. On flight mode, you wont be able to get messages or receive calls because naturally, your sim card is not in your phone.

Profile Managers

* Psiloc Extended Profiles (eProfiles): Enhanced setttings in profiles, like key lock times, backgrounds, soft key associations, left & right selection keys, screensaver, bluetooth, and color schemes. You can also schedule profiles to go on and off at certain times, or to be on for just so many hours, great for going to a movie and setting your phone to silent for 2 hours. The keylock alone is worth the cost of this software. Use this with MiniGPS and you can set a profile based on location (work, home) and have the desktop wallpaper change, along with the ringtone etc. However, the eProfiles has this nasty bug where it will play 1-2 seconds of the default alarm tone before it plays the song you have selected. This is great software, 5/5 stars.

* pExtender: Enables the other three color schemes that are built into the phone but disabled by firmware. Regarding the pExtender, after you install the app and unlock the colors red, pink and orange you can dump, erase, remove the app and the colors will stay unlocked in your phone!

* Smart Profiles: Has almost all the features that Extended Profiles, and also lets users define a keyword. If the keyword you have chosen appears in your phone's calender, then the phone will automatically switch to your desired profile. Very handy feature. Also, Smart Profiles seems to be compiled better than eProfiles. For example, both programs offers the user a way to change the calender tone. Unlike eProfiles, Smart Profiles does not force you to endure any of Nokia's default sounds, in whole or part. Smart Profiles does have a turn-off feature.

GPS

* miniGPS: Determines where you are by basing it on the cell site that you are using. allows you to program events in case you are in this particular location like change your profile, sound an alarm turn off phone etc. For instance, I have a group setup for home and one setup for work. When the phone is registered with any of the cells in the home group, it switches to the normal profile. (Thanks to Extended profiles, the keypad is set not to lock, the background changes, bluetooth gets enabled, etc). When I leave the home group, the phohe switches to the outdoor profile (enables keypad lock, different background, rings). Very cool app.

IR

* TotalIRremote: Allows you to control your remote controlled appliances through your phone. Has support for hundreds of brands. Works but the range isn't that good, and you may as well push the buttons on the TV for how close you have to be but its still neat to play around with. I also heard that they will update it for the 3650 to switch the interface 90 degrees since its IR port is on the side, good idea!

ScreenSavers

* Psiloc ScreenSaver: Gives you customized screensavers, animations, different types of clocks, texts, pictures slideshow. Conumes a lot of battery.

* PowerLock: Similar to above, but consumes less battery.

Internet

* Doris Browser: Best browser I've used for phone-based web.

* Netfront: It supports javascript and displays things very nicely and loads fast. Most say it's a memory hog.

* Opera: Java-based web browser.

* Webviewer: is just archaic! The included WAP browser actually isn't too bad.

* Emailviewer: Sister program of Webviewer for viewing emails.

* Agile Messenger: Connect to MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AIM messengers on your phone.

Info Mangers

* Cocktail: Has about 165 different recipes for cocktails and shots. It has detailed preparation instructions and ingredients. and can be sutomized to show only the drinks you can make with the ingredients you have and such. it is great for impressing people.

* HandyCar: Keeps track of milage and gas usage, oil checks and such.

* Handy Expense: Keeps track of the expenses you have, it records date, catagory, and amount. The main catagories are pre-defined (such as lunch, dinner, gas, grocery, etc) but surely you can add more of your own. It can report to you the total of each catagory for each month too bad it can't act as a check book and the app should be linked to HandyCar, so when I fill my car up, I don't need to put the amount in both app.

* Handy Safe: Similar to e-wallet on Nokia 6100 & Nokia 7250, however, it has more features. You can store any kind of personal info and there will be a little label beside it. For example, if you stored your visa card # , there will be a little visa card label beside the number. This application is very useful for people who do a lot of internet shopping/online banking.

* Handy Shopper: Lets you select what you need from a list of common items, and lets you create your own items too. keeps track of quantatity needed as well, and I use it when I go shopping, so I don't hit myself for forgetting to buy something.

* MumSMS: Hide all the SMS from specific numbers. Very handy if u don't want ur personal SMSs to be read by others when they look at ur phone.

CellTrack:

*Provides information on the cell tower you are connected to.

* CellID = Unique ID number of the cells on your tower. Most towers have 3 different cells, the last digit will be for Sector 1(NNE-20°), 2(SE-140°) or 3(W-260°), depending on which cell sector you're facing.
* LAC = Location Area Code for the network to identify which general area you are in.
* NET = Network ID (310 = USA, 38 = ATTWS).
* Name = Name of the cell, this is shown by an algorythm, or from the cell broadcast when have defined a service number as set in the config. Oherwise '-' is shown.
* Signal = Quality of the signal, less than -85 is good, more than -100 is bad, in between is okay. The percentage value is taken from the Nokia phone API. The dBm values is covered with an at command.

Dictionary

* SlovoEd: Dictionary for ur mobile phone. Many languages r available.

Call Management

* SpyCall: Record your phone calls

* CallCheater: Plays various sounds (e.g traffic etc) in the background of the call. Handy thing if u want an alibi

Bluetooth

* Bemused: Control ur mp3 player thru ur phone via bluetooth.

* MobiLuck: Send files via bluetooth, or even messages!

MP3 Players

* UltraMP3: Play mp3s on ur s60 device.

* Mp3toGo: Another good mp3 player

Games

* Anti Mosquito: As the name implies, apparently repels pesky mosquitos. Don't bother, a waste of battery and space.
* Bounce: a must have game, again from nokia, you control a bouncing ball in each level to the end across obsticles without popping it. Most people have this game, what more do I need to say.
* Lemonade Tycoon: A very addictive game
* CellMill: based on Merrelles, Mills, Merels, Nine Men's Morris board game. Interesting game, easy to learn but yet require some brain work. The point of the game is to get your pieces in a straight line of 3 and then you'll be able to take one of the opponent pieces. The player who has 2 pieces left, loses. Obviously 2 cannot form line of 3, so there's no point in playing = end game. The game can be played by BT with your friend.
* ChessGenius: the best chess games I ever find for my 3650. Nice color with different level, view, board size. One of the best looking as well as the AI you can play with.
* Com2Us Bowling: Well what can I say. If you've ever owned a Samsung S100/105 you know this game. It's a simple bowling game (much better looking on the 3650 then the Samsung I must admit) Very easy to play and alot of fun. Easy on the install and again no errors.
* Dope Wars: My favorite game on my phone. It's not very exciting for most people. you are a dealer and start out with some money and you buy drugs at low prices and travel around and sell them at higher prices. the point is to end the game with the most money. cops come after you, as do gangsters and such. it is not 3d, just a word game basically, but for some reason I love playing it, great fun for me.
* FIFA 2003/GT Racing/Snowboard X/SWAT Sniper: All great games, no probs or crashes on the install. Fone doesn't freeze when you play them either. Fun to play, If you're the kinda person that likes to play games on the fone to kill time I would definately get these. Besides Splinter Cell these have to be the funnest games I have played.
* GoBoy Gameboy Emulator: Awesome, so far I have Galaga, PacMan, Tetris, and Pokemon Yellow. This is by far the best, very easy to install and doesn't use much space at all. GoBoy Plus has the sound support.
* IQ: Great thinking game, I love it. There are these gems, and a laser, and you have a few mirrors and you must move the mirrors around so the laser beam will hit all the gems, excellent game.
* MGS Karting & RealPool: Really great games.
* MGS Steel Warrior: Love this game, Magic Game Station makes such good 3D games. This one runs much better than karting though. I often have to restart the phone to play Karting, but this one always starts up fine, very fun game.
* Marcel Desailly Pro Soccer: Intalled easily no problems or fone crashes. It's not one of those games that you have to save on the fone memory you can save on the MMC and it works great. I compared it to FIFA 2003 and between the two I prefer this one. It's alot more fun, much easier to play to than FIFA and more teams to choose from aswell. A great soccer game for anyone!
* Mid Pacman: What's to say, it's classic pacman. A blast from the past. If you're a fan definately get it. I had no problems installing it and no crashes either.
* Moto Racer: I had no luck getting this game to install so that's all I can say about it, but if anyone has been able to install it successfully pls share your thoughts on it.
* New Skool Skater: This game also remind me of a few games I grew up playing in the arcades when I was a kid. Easy installation with no errors. I had a good time playing this game. Basically on your skate board you are collecting coins/points, there are half pipes, little creatures you have to jump over and/or shoot. It's just a fun game definately worth checking out.
* Overdrive: 3D top view racing game. Kinda cool but not as fun as Karting.
* Rayman Golf: It's an ok game but many say it's one of the best games you can have on your phone. It's like most of the old days golf game, click to choose club, power, and accuracy.
* Snowboard X: Cool game too. You snowboard and jump of ramps to do tricks to score points, it's ok.
* Speed Devils: Reminds me of a game I used to play as a kid in the arcades. Once again a fun race game that's easy to install with no errors. Basically you try to beat the clock by reaching various check points and finishing 3 laps. Everytime you do that you unlock a new course that you can drive. There are little goodies you can pick up along the way like turbo boosts and missiles to shoot cars in your way. Not like GT racer where you are just racing other cars and thats it.
* Tiger Woods PGA Golf Tour: if you are a golf fan or a Rayman Golf fan that you'll love this game. It's easy to install there are no fone crashes. You can just practise, compete or play a full course on your own. Rayman Golf is like mini golf compared to this game. It's alot more realistic. Perfect game for the golf lover.
* Triple Pop: Nokia's game, can be download at Nokia's site, it's like tetris in a circle where you move the center of the circle to catch the incoming balls of colors. Getting the 3 of the same color will change itself to score.

The list is by no means complete. Feel free to add more.

there are a couple of more screen savers. one is called Skreen Savers. The other is My Screen savers. They are not as customizable as power lock or psiloc. You can only use "themes clock" and u have to buy the different themes as well as the program.

And no matter what screnn saver u use, battery will be drained fast. The default is the best if u want more battery life.

Skreen Saver
My Screen Saver

or dont use screen savers

I might be being a little lazy here but can someone please tell me if their is a program that will allow to send things from my inbox to other people? Right now, if I want to send an SIS or MP3 over to someone else then I have to open up FExplorer and go to the mail folder and browse through about a hundred folders to find the right file where the mail is kept. This is really, really annoying. I have a 6600 BTW.

And... can anyone tell me how I should encode my video files on my PC to be viewed on my phone?

Cheers.

Ok tried so many pages; my eyes hurt.

Is there a way to convert my PDF files (ebooks included) into a document format that Mobipocket reader will show correctly?

Also other than html/xhtml what other formats does pocket reader support? I read within these 10 pages it doesnt like DOC files.

Can MS Word convert a saved file into what mobipocket likes??

thanks. Hey 6620 newb here. former SE basic phone fan.

Posted by: angel_wing0

dont think so...but u can search my-symbian.com and see what u find

Posted by: Prom1

Angel_Wing0,

thanks for the tip on where to look. Did a search there for PDF converter and somebody there found it - freeware too.

Haven't tried it yet, still downloading via neighbor's WiFi - running a business with serious downloading at the moment so I'm bottlenecked.

pdfconverter v1.3

cheers.

Posted by: angel_wing0

np man good luck

Posted by: Prom1

I should note that this freeware app was intentionally made for Palm based readers.

It can & does quickly convert to html, plain text - thats readable for ReadM+MobiPocket Reader (I cant stand the later - gave me problems to uninstall it using App Manager s60 standard app. Had to uninstall that webnews crap off desktop 1st).

pdfconverters only other option is to convert to .pdb files; of which ReadM doesnt well read - no pun intended.

Is there any file that ReadM can read as an ebook file that will understand chapters are links to beginning of chapters??

plain text loses this goto chapter ability, and ReadM doesnt have goto "chapter".

still on the hunt.

wow amazing this 6620 officially replaced any need for a Palm organizer.

If you're looking to beef up your calendar you gotta see Papyrus by SBSH Mobile Software! Color-coding, icons, many views, very easy to use, powerful, and ever growing. They have a forum for suggestions/support. I participated in the beta version and this thing has become awesome!

This is their first Symbian app . . . . they've been in PPC for a while.

Papyrus 1.0 available on Handango (12 day trial):

not s60? the bb? if that's what you were refering to, I knew that, but thought that because the apps were java based I could still put them on my phone. Maybe I was mistaken. The second poster had some cool sounding apps and thought I'd be able to put them on the bb. If you know either way and could clear up my confusion I'd apreciate it. thanks.

u might have more luck asking in the bb forum
